Question about Computers & Internet
I think my video card is shot, it is a GE force 8800, I have wavy blue lines across the screen, and I can not change the resoulution from the very basic. I also get a notice the Rundll32 has stopped working. I have run anti-viral software and nothing came up. I have also done a system restore and updated direct x.
I would try reinstalling the drivers for your video card. If your drivers are not loading usually windows will default your drivers, hence the 800x600 res and crappy 4bit color. If you are still seeing picture I would be more inclined to lean towards this being a software issue and not a hardware one. One other thing you may or may not want to try is a reinstall of software. If you don't want to wipe your current drive I would see about finding a cheap smaller drive to try this on. You should be able to find a used hard drive around 20 GB at a computer shop or on ebay.
