Question about Mag Innovision LT776s 17" LCD Monitor
My 3 yr old monitor (power is on almost continuously) seems to be failing. Problem: Screen receives signal briefly and then flickers and quickly goes to black. I have checked the external power cord/supply and it is ok. The problem seems to rest inside the monitor or with a driver perhaps. Is repair feasible? How? DIY or off to service center? Is a new purchase best? The MAG Innovision website is of no help for this older? model. Thanks
Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
