SOURCE: want stainless steel front door for dishwasher

There are a couple of ways to do this. The easiest one is to check out www.applianceart.com and they have many different options for "wrapping" the front of your dishwasher. They change it often so if you don't see it, call the company becuase I know they have it.

SOURCE: discolorations/stains on stainless steel refrigerator surface

Tried lots of suggestions to no avail. Tried a USED, dried out Scotch Brite Cook Top pad on the scrubber handle with Heavy Duty Fantastick sprayed on the pad. Scrubbed the drip marks at the bottom and wiped away to see if it was "scratching" or marri8ng the finish. Nope, but IT WAS taking the water marks off. So I did a bit more and checked again. Working great with no problems for the finish. Cleaned the whole watermark area. Rinsed of with wet cloth. Let it dry and then used my usual stainless cleaner, buffed to shine and walked away to post this. :> My refrig is an Aman too but I read other problem sites and it is common with stainless steel refrigs

SOURCE: Stainless steel door insert for a Hotpoint dishwasher

YOu definitely need to try www.applianceart.com. They have many dishwasher covers as well as the stainless metal panels that you can just slip into the door. Give them a try, who knows? you may want to put your own face on your dishwasher...they do that too!

SOURCE: Stainless Steel Range Tops.

The only way to clean it is with steel wool. I use 2 different grades, but finish with a fine grit-0000. You still can't get it completely clean, no matter what you do. Forget it looking new. It's not real stainless steel if it's model FEF455BBA. I won't EVER buy this sort of top again either. I have had numerous problems with it, including since it conducts heat and doesn't shield wiring from the heat generated by the eyes, it is constantly melting out the plug-in elements for the eyes. I am surprised it hasn't been recalled. I am surprised more people haven't had fires!

Kitchenaid dishwasher rust spots

Hello -

The cause of the stains on the interior of your dishwasher may be the water. Do you know if you have hard water, water with a high mineral content? If so, do you know if the water has a high iron or maganese content?

If you have hard water in your home water supply and do not have a water softener, check the owner's manual for your dishwasher - the Troubleshooting section - to see if there is mention of stains on the interior of the dishwasher.

+++
From the American Cleaning Institute web page on Automatic Dishwashers:
http://www.cleaninginstitute.org/clean_living/automatic_dishwashing_problems.aspx#Yellow
Yellow / Brown Stains

Causes:
Iron or manganese content in water supply.

Solutions:
After food soil is removed, wash dishes with citric acid crystals. Check dishwasher manufacturer's instructions for amount to use and method. Do not add detergent.

A liquid product is available to remove iron deposits from the dishwasher interior; follow the package instructions.

To retard staining, use maximum amount of dishwasher detergent to keep iron or manganese in suspension during the wash. Use a rinse additive during the rinse.

Preventative Measures:
If staining cannot be controlled, the only solution is in the installation of iron removal equipment in the home water supply.
+++

Some solutions to the interior staining problem recommend the addition of citric acid crytals to the covered section of the dishwasher detergent dispenser. If you do that, be sure you do not have any sterling silver or silver plate tableware in the dishwasher. (Those items are best washed by hand, anyway.) Citric acid will cause pits on sterling silver and silver plate. Note: Some dishwasher detergents and dish liquids have citric acid in their formulations - check the ingredients.

Best wishes.

The stainless steel interior has a thick chalky film on the door leading from the soap dispenser. The dishes are still coming clean but can't get rid of this film. I have tried a few cycles with CLR...

There is a product on the market called Dishwasher Magic that should help with this problem. It is a citric acid cleaner that will remove most any film from you dishwasher from hard water stains to food stains. Another similar product is called Glisten. Make sure you follow the directions on the bottle. Hope that helps.

Grit on the dishes. Foggy glasses. Blue type stain on the stainless flatware and the stainless inside of the dishwasher is very cloudy and streaked. Many areas inside the dishwasher feel gritty.

The problem is hard water. www.dishwasherfilter.com has a product to solve this problem once and for all. It filters the water going into your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that leave those spots. It is very affordable and even has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look with this product.

How to clean stainless steel

You say your new oven...and DW have stains...I will assume (if that's OK) that you have a stainless steel oven...and are washing stainless steel in the DW...but you are having streaks and or white...spots or deposits...Sounds like hard water...you may try a localized..(just for the DW and kitchen sink area) filtration system...to reduce hardness of water...(is this well water)..if so you definitely need filtration...if you don't already have it.
Here are some issues and or cleaning techniques for stainless steel.

stainless steel is known for its ability to be a clean surface that resists corrosion and rust. Dirt, dust and grime, however, put stainless steel at risk for corrosion and rust. Luckily, stainless steel responds well to cleaning, never wearing out from excessive cleaning, as long as certain rules are followed. 1. Water and a cloth.
Routine cleaning can be accomplished by using warm water and a cloth. This is the least risky option For cleaning stainless steel. Dry with a towel or cloth to prevent water spots. Wipe in the directions of the polish lines.
2. Mild detergent, (dish washing liquid) and cloth.
For cleaning that needs more power, mild detergent and warm water can do a great job without damaging the stainless steel. Make sure you rinse the surface thoroughly to prevent staining and spotting. Towel dry to prevent water spots which can be caused by minerals in water.
3. Glass cleaner for fingerprints.
Fingerprints are one of the biggest complaints about stainless steel, but can be taken care by using glass cleaner or household ammonia. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry. There are some newer types of finishes for stainless steel that resist fingerprints, a must if your pint-sized helpers leave their mark on your stainless steel appliances.
4. stainless steel Cleaner.
If you’ve had staining or scratching, or need to polish your stainless steel, a stainless steel cleaner may be a good option. Some of these cleaners and polishes can help minimize scratching and remove stains. They also can polish stainless steel surfaces nicely. Read the directions on the stainless steel cleaner and test in an inconspicuous spot. Be sure to rinse thoroughly and towel dry.

If this does not help please clarify...with specific model #'s and walk me through (step by step) what the specific problem is and how you address it....Thank you and I hope this helps.............
Good Luck...........The Fang.

Kenmore Dishwasher - stops cleaning dishes - 2 techs just scratch their heads - any suggestions? water is hot, changed soap, still not even coffee stains inside cups are cleaned, let alone the rest.

ensure spray arm holes are not blocked, the water level is good, the spray of water is strong, it is heating and the tablet is entering the wash, not much else can cause a bad wash. note dishwasher may not always be able to get rid of some coffee stains.
