The mfd and volts should be printed on the outside of the capacitor the higher rating mfd is for the compressor and the lower for the fan
if there is no number on it there should be a mfd rating on the motor and compressor if i had to guess i would say for a 3ton system maybe a 35/5mfd 440v
if you are having that much trouble finding those numbers i would call a wholesale house for that unit and ask make sure you have your serial number too
hope this will help

"Comfortmaker " brand air conditioning

I did some research and this sounds like it could be a capacitor issue. Go to the back of your outside unit and look inside the access panel with the electrical warning sticker on it, if the capacitor is bowed up at the top, it needs to be replaced. If it turns out to be the capacitor, follow this link for a new capacitor replacement kit, it will save you hundreds of more dollars than calling an HVAC repair company to charge you an arm and a leg. The kit also comes with the proper tools and parts needed as well as detailed instructions on how to replace the part yourself.
I hope this helps!

The unit input voltage is 110 volt and was plugged into 220v outlet. . the input winding is now busted. . i was hoping to know the secondary voltage of the transformer. . i was planning to replace the...

The winding is center tapped. It generates +/-24.5 volts DC. Based on it being a capacitor input filter, we need a peak voltage about 1 volt higher to account for the droop of the capacitor and the .7 volt drop of one silicon diode...

Since we need 25.5 volts peak then we need that divided by 1.414 RMS out of ONE side of the center=tapped secondary... So our secondary voltage is 18 volts either side of center.

You will need a 36 volt center-tapped secondary. Here is one that would work:

This has two 18 volt windings that you would connect in series and a dual primary you can set for either 120 or 240 input. About $19 US.

On top of the capacitor you will find the terminals marked. One will say C, or Com. The others will be marked fan and herm. There will be a hot wire going to C. Usually this comes of the top of the contactor and is red. Find the wire that runs to the compressor. It will likely be yellow. This will hook to the Herm. Next find the fan wire (probably brown) it will hook to the fan. Hope this helps.

Condenser Fan and Compressor not turning on.

Are you sure you have high voltage going to the unit? One wire from fan lands on top left of contactor, the other two go to C and Fan on capacitor. Manually push in contactor, if no fan than no high voltage.

My comfortmaker a/c fan does not work. compressor sounds as though it is trying to cycle on or off

sounds like a bad capacitor. if you can spin the fan blade and it starts turning on its own and every 30 45 sec the compressor sounds like the compressor is trying to start you will need to replace the capacitor. if you remove the panel to expose the electrical controls. the capacitor is the large round canistor looking device. its rating will be stamped on the side, its probably a dual cap if both the fan and compressor arent starting in which case it will have three posts on top and the value will be listed like this 45-5-370or440 that would be 45uf for the compressor 5uf for the fan and 370 or 440 volt. on the top of the cap you will see C,FAN, and HERM, you must make sure the wires go back on the new just like on the old you also must make sure you capacitor rating of the new cap is the same rating as the old. post with more info or other observations and i will continue to help you if you need

I have a ruud model number upne 060 jbz the compressor is not coming on .could it be the capacitor?

It could be, could also be lots of other things. Is the indoor fan comming on? do you have 240 volts at the contactor? both sides of the contactor? Is the contactor pulling in? Is there 24 volts on the low voltage side of the contactor? is there voltage at the compresser? Did you ohm out the windings?

Pyle PDCDM5000 Pro Dual CD Player with Mixer

The filter capacitors are getting leaky and need replacement in the power supply. These capacitors filter the 60hz AC out of the working DC voltage. WHen these start to fail, the voltages start to fluctuate at 60hz. causing the flickers or complete failure. In audio the same problem can cause a 60hz hum in the signal.
