Question about Ryobi Cultivator

1 Answer

We have a older Ryobi cultivator and the gas tank is leaking. We have tried everything to fix it.....Is there some place to buy a new tank? The tank has 2 holes coming out of it for hoses, I do not know how old the machine is, but I have had it for a long time.........Thanks

Take it to an MTD dealer. MTD owns Ryobi now and they should be able to order you a new on. Not much has changed on them in the last 20 years.

Did you replace the gasket (item 15 on the linked document) when replacing tank and lines, if you didn't and the old one has been torn it could be sucking in air, also the 4 carb mount screws need to be of equal tightness

remove the screws holding the recoil cover off I would think and go here for parts and use your model numbers to find your unit.

Carburator floods as soon as you fill the gas tank . this is a ryobi 410r tiller.

you have a needle valve stuck open. i am not familiar with your model but if you can remove the float bowl and clean it out maybe replace the needle and seat and the float it should fix the problem good luck.

Gas problem

If it's a Ryobi it is 40:1. If you go to the store, you can buy small bottles that will give that mix if the entire bottle is put into 1 gallon of gas. Ryobi bottles are pretty easy to find. Home depot carries them.
