Re: bios for vista home premium

Use the recovery Cd that came with the pc to restore to vista, you probably would not get drivers for your lappie when u install xp.

or use a vista cd to reinstall vista

I have acer asprse 5315 i just put windows vista home premium .. and it work for 1 week then my computer shut down and its appear on the screen you need a product key ... then i put my lap top product key...

Unfortunately, you have to have/purchase a product key for each copy of the Windows OS, in this case Vista. The XP key will not work. And the key has to be for that particular version ie: Windows Vista (TM) Home Premium.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Joe

Describe your acer aspire 7735ZG drivers Problem drivers problem before with Vista now with XP Pro i could not load the right drivers still have problems after one year buying the laptop please let give me...

If you installed the customized(!) version of Windows that ACER supplies with each new ACER computer, namely Windows Vista Home Premium, you should have all of the correct device-drivers.

If you "down-graded" from that version of Windows to Windows XP, and some of the device-drivers are "missing", then I recommend that you reinstall Windows Vista, or purchase an "upgrade" to Windows 7.

You might try to access the manufacturer's web-site, via:
to see if they support "down-grading" to Windows XP, and if they supply the needed device-drivers.

But, your BEST solution is to reinstall Windows Vista, and be sure to apply "Service Pack 2" to Vista, to bring it up-to-date.

I recently formatted my Acer Aspire 4732Z laptop and now im attempting to install Vista on it. As it came pre-configured with Windows Vista Home Premium, will the product key found at the bottom of my...

IF it came with a Vista Install, and you are installing the exact same Vista, then YES, The "Key" on the bottom, is the right one and it will absolutely work. These units have a BIOS that has a special Activation Code inside. The Windows install "Sees" that "Code" and Activates Vista. You DO need to user an ACER Version though, this can be downloaded from the "net though, as an ISO,burn that to DVD, and you can use that.

Upgrade vista home premium

As per my knowledge, there is no version of Vista called Vista Professional like in Windows XP.
Make sure what is the version to which you want to upgrade to from Vista Home Premium to Vista Business or Vista Ultimate.
The available versions of Vista Operating Systems along with the features supported from the Link below :

However, if you want to Upgrade the current version of Vista to a higher version like Vista Business or Vista Ultimate, you need to purchase Vista Anytime Upgrade kit from any retail store or directly from Microsoft.
You can find the required information related to Anytime Upgrade Kit from the link below :

However, make sure that you had created the Recovery Disks for your notebook using which you will be able to reinstall the preinstalled Operating Sytem along with all the Preinstalled Applications and Drivers after which you need to use the Vista Upgrade Kit to upgrade to higher version of Vista.
However, if you are currently having a 32 Bit Vista preinstalled in the Notebook, it is not possible to upgrade to a 64 Bit Vista since you can upgrade only a 32 Bit of Operating System to a higher version of 32 Bit Operating System and a 64 Bit Operating System to a higher version of 64 Bit Operating System.
Hope this helps....

How to uninstall Vista and load XP in Lenovo Y510 Ideapad

Several points:

1. Although you may prefer XP to Vista, it is probable that you are simply
more familiar with it. If you would give yourself some time to become
accustomed to Vista, you might find that you like it. I know I do.

2. You can't literally "uninstall" Vista, but if you want XP instead, you
simply do a clean installation of XP the normal way. That will format the
drive, removing whatever is on it.

3. Do you already have a copy of XP you want to install? Did it come with
your old computer? If so you need to be aware that OEM versions (such as
those that came preinstalled on computers) are permanently tied by their
license to the first computer they are installed on. If that's your
situation, your copy of XP is not available to be used on your new laptop.

4. Over and above the licensing issue in point 3, many OEM version of
Windows XP are BIOS-locked to the computer they came with, and you actually
won't be able to install it on a different one.

5. You should check with your vendor to be sure, but the warranty on your
new computer may be voided if you change operating systems.

6. Laptops often have special drivers they need for components within them.
Your new laptop undoubtedly came with all the drivers needed for Vista, but
it didn't come with the drivers needed for Windows XP. Finding and getting
the drivers you need may be a problem.

If I were in your shoes, I'd stick with Vista.

If you still want to uninstall:
The normal way to "uninstall" any operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

After backing up any data you wish to transfer to the new OS
installation, simply boot from the WinXP Home installation CD. You'll
be offered the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as
part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order
of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

Then the backed up data can be restored and applications re-installed.

You can even try a dual boot, where you have both Vista and XP on the same system. Click HERE for pictorial guide.
