You cannot replace the valve stem alone. The entire valve would need to be replaced. Depending on the Weber Grill, you may have to replace the entire manifold.

Remove connection to tank, reconnect, open valve slowly, when you open valve to fast the tank valve has a shutdown in it, it thinks something is wrong and shuts valve down. Always open tank valve slowly when using.
Also your tank valve could be sticking causing this problem, to fix replace tank.

SOURCE: webber gennines grille have to

Since you model has battery powered ignition, it may simply be a case of having to replace the battery. And while you have it out, check for corrosion on the contacts, inside the battery holder. Take note of which way the old battery is facing in the holder. As you want to install the new battery exactly the same way.

I hope this helped you and Happy Grilling. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Converting a natural gas Webber genesis bbq to propane. Can you buy a kit to convert?

Hello, Kevin -

Do you mean a Weber (not Webber) Genisis grill? If so . . . see the information from the Weber grill company regarding the conversion of a natural gas grill to propane here:

https://consumer-care.weber.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001730474-How-can-I-convert-my-grill-from-liquid-propane-LP-to-natural-gas-NG-or-vice-versa-

Bottom line:
The Weber company does not recommend it and does not provide a conversion kit.

Best wishes.

I have a 3week old Webber Q220 bbq and it does not ignite - Plenty of gas but igniter does not work - what to do please?

If it's no longer sparking, then it sounds like your igniter battery is dead. Unscrew the igniter button and replace the battery.

Do they make a conversion kit from NG to LP for a Ducane Meridian 32" grill ???....btw, the model has been discontinued.

Unfortunately, there is not a conversion kit available to convert a Ducane/Webber Grill from one gas type to another. In fact, there never has been, to the best of my knowledge.

The reason for this is that each model is tested and approved for a specific gas type. Whether it's Natural Gas or Propane Gas. Attempts to convert them from one gas type to another would then place all the liability on you, if something should go wrong, because of the conversion. Even the Owner's Manual states that.

My best advice, is clean the grill up and sell it to someone who wants a Natural Gas Grill. Use that money to put toward a new LP Gas Grill. That's the safest way to do it.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Do they have coversion kits for webber summit silver grills lp to natural

eber does not sell conversion kits for any of their gas grills.Nor, do they recommend converting them, as a matter of safety. Each grill whether Natural Gas or Propane is tested and approved for that specific gas type. With Weber grills,as with many other brands, there's more to converting the grill from one gas type to another, than just changing the burner orifices. It also requires changing all the burners, because their venturi valves (air intake) are not adjustable.

Hope this helps you and thank you for choosing FixYa.

I have a Webber Q Family BBQ for about 2 - 3years. I noticed say last 6 months that the burners are not working properly and the grill is not hot enough ie take 3 times longer to cook a steak etc. I read...

OK, it sounds to me that when you changed the propane tank, you may have turned the gas tank valve on too fast. Doing so causes the built-in excess flow valve to check, which only allows a trickle of gas through. Do this: Turn off the gas tank, disconnect it and drain any remaining gas from the grill by opening a valve to a burner. Close the grill valve and then reconnect the tank. Very slowly open the tank valve and try lighting a burner again and see it that solves the problem. Douglas
