Hi Glacier Bay! I have installed a shower fixture of yours. There is very little hot water coming out, but there is some. Did I forget to remove something? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Keith

SOURCE: Single-handle Glacier Bay shower faucet, hot/cold reversed

Hello. It sounds like your plumbing was installed wrong, with the hot and the cold supply lines reversed. If that is the case, those supply lines will have to be replumbed to make your faucet work properly. Often, if those lines are accessable, it is only a 20 minute job. Joe

SOURCE: Single-handle Glacier Bay shower faucet, hot/cold reversed

Behind the handle check to see if it has a dail to take out and replace at a different postion this will change the hot and cold. It a anti scald protection device. Don't remove cartridge just adjust dail.

Mark where you start and take out and move a 1/8-1/4 turn at a time and replace til temp desired. It has teeth like a gear you move to adjust temp.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly
You need to most likely change the inner valve cartridge. These Glacier Bay valves are sold at Home Depot and finding the correct replacement part will not be easy. Personal experience is to remove the old valve cartridge and walk into the store with part in hand. These valves use a ceramic insert / disc that locks into a groove of the cartridge. If the ceramic piece has drifted out of place they usually break off the inner locking tabs.

Should the store you visit not have the part you need... read these links:

http://glacierbayfaucet.org/buy-glacier-bay-faucet-parts-online

Also read the 23 March article on this link near the bottom of the page:
http://glacierbayfaucet.org/buy-glacier-bay-faucet-parts-online Heading name is
Infromation Technology

Let me just add something........ check with your realtor about your HOME WARRANTY. This repair may very well be covered by the home warranty.

My honest opinion.... the sooner you get rid of the Glacier Bay Shower control the happier you will be. These controls were at one time Marketed under the in store name Pegasus.

I did not intend to ruin your day but... I do want anyone reading this to be advised of the consequences of buying inexpensive shore controls.

A word of advice when purchasing a new control valve. Pay for the good name ONCE and make sure the repair parts are in the same store where you make the purchase. It will cost you less in the long run. Have the sales person show you the repair parts for the MODEL that you are thinking of buying. Delta, Moen, Price Pfister are 3 names that have been around a long time and have repair parts readily available in the marketplace. (end rant)

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Glacier bay faucet manual

Contact glacier bay to get a replacement control/handle assembly. Usually their customer service department is good at replacing the parts under warranty

You should have individual cold & hot water supply shut-offs in your basement for your tub/shower; if not, now's the time to install them.

If I could be of further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

I recently had a Glacier Bay single handle shower faucet installed. The hot water is barely lukewarm. What is the problem?

Inside the handle assembly there is an adjustment for the anti-scald feature. If the installer left you the owners manual,it should have instructions how to adjust it. If not, have the installer come back to adjust it.

My mixet bathtub faucet only produces hot water

single lever facets do this all the time

flip the facet leverover
ie remove lever and spin the center gut 180 degrees re install the lever and wala you have hot and cold water
if not check your supplu lines dont have a kink in them or they are not pluged
remove hot supply line and open feed valve over a bucket no water ?
turn on the other shut off valve
remove cold line over bucket open valve you have water then you have a bad faucet
return it then install a glacier bay faucet they are cheep and they work well
