Re: Document feeder jam
If you open the cover where you feed in the documents to be copied, look on the back side of that cover and you should see a little black plastic piece that dangles from the cover. Make sure first of all that is is there, and it moves freely. This makes contact with a sensor when the cover is closed. And of course make sure the cover is closed tightly. You may have some thing like a small piece of paper or some other obstruction in your document feeder mechanism that is blocking the light to the document or ostructing the view to the image sensor. Carefully clean that feeder and rolls perhaps by blowing.
Open up the ADF(document feeder) and check that the paper sensor lever is in place. It is spring loaded and I've seen it where the spring pops loose. It is a plastic paddle that pops up when there isn't paper present and is pushed down as the paper travels through the ADF. If I could be of further assistance, let me know.
