Question about Intel D845EPI (INTELKD845EPILPAK10) Motherboard
The computer was working fine till suddenly it powered off abruptly.. I don't know how it got powered off. But after that my machine does not POST. I see nothing appearing on the screen. Keyboard, mouse nothing is detected. Also there are no beep sounds. But guess i never heard the BIOS beeps when the PC worked fine.
The CD drive opens up if i only connect the power supply to it without any connection of MB to it. The fans are running and also the green light on the MB is on. But other than there is no activity.
I opened up my CPU and removed the processor FAN. Removed the grease from teh interface between the processor and the processor fan. Hope that is not a problem.. :(
I have searched the MB for any damaged/bulging capacitors ... have not found anything yet. :)
I have also tried removing the CMOS battery and booting. But no help.
Also i have tried to boot the PC with BIOS safe mode. Still no help. :(
I would really appreciate getting some help regarding some solutions to this problem. I have searched the net extensively but have not come up with worth while solutions till now.
and have a great day ahead!!
Try to use working processor from your friend, If the problem still the same possible your motherboard has been damage. Ask for a warranty for the supplier.
Don't rate me Inappropriate if you don't like my solution or rate me SOLVED if this solution solved your problem. Thanks

Good luck... I replaced this mobo on my own system around a year ago, found an ASUS with same chipset for around US $50. There were enough of them around that you could price-shop. Today (04/08) I need another one, and cannot find a new one anywhere. Actually, there is a used one on eBay in Hong Kong. One. Remember you will need the same mobo OR a mobo with exactly the same chipset/hardware/configuration right down to the Northbridge/Southbridge chipset or you will have trouble loading the existing operating system that's installed on the hard drive. Looks like I'm headed off to Be$$t Buy for a whole new system.

Hi you all I got the same problem with my computer emachine t2824 it has a d845epi/d845gvsr
and I power supply went bad replaced it motherboard green light came on is all would boot I getting nothing from the motherboard.
Need to get a replacement motherboard the problem with this is that that the hard drive is still good but for the operating system to boot it look for the same type of system to boot it was told. My guess it looks for the chip set and other similar things and I just don't know which motherboard would let the operating system boot if it not exact. So it look you might have the same problem as i have. I seen several 478 motherboards out there but none cheap that are just like mine that are new.

I have same problem but i think power supply and mb are bad. tested the power supply and nothing. put in a new PS and as soon as it is connected the cpu fan starts. must be a short on the mb. anyone know where to get a new mb and power supply cheap?

It sounds to me like your motherboard is damaged, it does not take much to damage these things, a small charge of static electricity, touching something on the board, a misplaced screw, anything. But it really sounds as if the board has been damaged. If you are not getting any response from it the board is bad. I have to look at various MB on a daily basis, and in my experience with these boards if you get no response it is not always a capicitor, or resistor something embedded on the board could have been damaged. If you received a warranty with the board return it otherwise. Get a new MB, those electro magnetic straps come in handy when installing a MB, trust me I have seen one to many go bad without them!
