The machine does not take in water. Water never comes in. What I descrbed is from the very begining. By load machine I meant putting the clothing in for wash.

It made sense to me. I will have to wait for the warranty service repairman. I was hoping it was a simple thing. Thank you.

You will have to determine if the timer is faulty - or if the inlet (mixer) valve is getting the signal from the timer - but just not energizing the solenoid to allow water in.... or the pressure switch has failed - that the controller thinks there is water in the tub and will not spin for safety reasons.

CLICK HERE to see the Controler/Timer

CLICK HERE to see the Mixer Valve. #203 in THIS DIAGRAM
The last possibility is a faulty Pressure Switch - so that the timer is sent a signal there is water in the tub.

You will need to determine which part is faulty - then return for a re-post if you have additional questions.

Please accept this answer to remove it from the work queue.

Thanks :)

I assume that this machine is taking water and then does not complete its wash..Now if this is so then you need to replace the pcb or now if tumbler did not turn at all then you should check the belt(if it's belt driven) as these are quite usual and first thing that goes wrong.Be careful here as pcb cost a lot and if you are no expert at this then work out the cost of a repair man and total it up..Sometimes you are better off buying a new one..Now it all depends on your location and labour cost..

Good Morning REDS, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that your door indicates it is open and your washer will not operate. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on the washer. Select a normal cycle, confirmed the latched is securely latched and verify if the washer will start. If the washer will not operate then it possibly have a faulty door lock assembly or a communication problem with the control board. At this point, it would be advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.

It appears that you have an electronic control board (directly behind the touchpad) issue. Contact an appliance service company.

During the spin cycle, the agitator makes a knocking/clicking sounds. Works good other then that.

If your machine type is a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW the tumblers or agitator should no rotate in spin cycle maybe a 1/8 turn and no more at the start of spin cycle . If your machine is one of the above machine types maybe you have coins or something under the tumblers. You can remove the tumblers by removing the plastic tumbler caps and with a #20 torx driver. See page 37 for tumbler removal. If your machine type is not the above please disregard my post.

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

I have another thought but if you could confirm the machine model number that would be helpful. So many folks post non FAV6800AW machine types in this forum.
Thank you… Rich

Hi, I'm posting my own solution to my problem. Thank you fixya and the many people who had a similar problem who sent in solutions to others on this site.
The door switch to the dryer was hitting a worn out area of the gasket surrounding the door and prevented a connection to the tumbler. After manually checking the tumbler to make sure it wasn't stuck, I temporarily put a piece of masking tape over the switch with the door open. Then I turned the timer knob on while the door was open to see if the dryer started and voila! it started. Hope this solution helps someone else. Iris
