Is any air coming out? check the fan. then the evaporator coils in the furnace plenum. see if the condensation drain is plugged. see if the coils are iced up. is the thin tubing very warm? if not, you may be low on refrigerant.

My air conditioner is not blowing cold air in the house

because the fan inside the house is working doesn't mean that the compressor outside is working
It may be a faulty start /run capacitor for the outside unit ,out of gas or failed power board
I suggest that you get an accredited technician to come and give you a proper diagnosis of the fault.

How do I know if compressor of my house air conditioner is turning on when I start my air conditioner? When I start my air conditioner the fan outside the house turns on, the air is blowing from the vents...

if the compressor is starting there will be a very small dimming in the house lights,if you go outside to the unit and start it from the outside disconnect when the compressor starts you will hear a whine type noise coming from the outside condenser unit that is the hermetic compressor motor operating,no cold air can be a number of issues, low on refrigerant(not likely on the new sealed systems) a bad motor start/run capacitor(quite likely) a bad contactor on the outside unit that supplies power to the compressor, one leg of the 240volts that supplies the compressor power, the fan will run on 120 volts, but the compressor needs 240 volts check the fuses.breaker in the power panel

Fan is blowing but air is not cool, outside pumps

If I understand you have two units one top and one bottom. If one is not running you have a problem. It will cause the other unit to work harder. Check breakers and the basic things. But you may need to call a service tech ask for free estimate. Russ

Not blowing cool air on my Ruud, 18 years old, outside unit.

If you have ice on the Line you are iced up. If coil is iced no air can get thru. Now First. Turn of ac and turn fan to on posotion. That will thaw unit. Let it run 45 minutes. That should do it. If the fan is not running you amy have a bad fan relay. One of the reason iced up unit is dirty evap, coil inside. Try to thaw it out first. You can clean the coil with a stool brush. Does not damage the coils. Good luck

Air conditioner not working

This is simple , turn your thermostat to fan only and not auto fan and see if it runs, if does then run it like this till a service man arrive, the fan motor for cool is gone out!

Central ac blowing hot air outside fan not moving but making a noise

This is nothing but an either or -or ! First, make the thermostat calls for cool, there are suppose to be 2- noise outside, the fan motor and the compressor (and if a old system,a humming noise which is the contactor coil which picks up the main 240-volts).. hurry up and take a stick or something and turn the fan blades, if it picks up speed and run, then its the capicator. If not then the fan motor is bad.! (BOTTOM LINE)!
