I would not advise you to refill a toner cartridge becausethe toner powder is very fine and you do not want to breath in this tonerpowder.
When the toner cartridge is exhausted or empty then theprinter will not be able to print further documents or the prints will be veryfaint.
You may be able to print a few more pages by removing thetoner cartridge and shaking the toner cartridge in a horizontal position a fewtimes and then placing it back into the printer.
This will give you an opportunity to print a few more pages and giveyou time to purchase a new toner cartridge for your printer. A cheaperalternative is to purchase a re-manufactured toner cartridge for your modelprinter.
A re-manufactured printer cartridge also replaces worn partsas well as refilling with toner powder.
Cyan is the "blue/green" ink cartridge which is required to print in full color. Some printers stop working when one or more ink cartridges is empty. Get a complete set for some savings and for the next cartridge that gets empty. Printers are cheap now, it's the ink that gets costly.
I'm not sure of the design and implementation on Brother units but on most designs that I am aware of, the answer is yes. The imaging drum is contained within the print cartridge.
Normally I would expect that you run out of toner long before the end of life on the drum. Sometimes people get after market or refilled cartridges to save on cost and open themselves up to situations like this.
When printer manufacturer's offer refurbished print cartridges, they are offering an "ETN" (Equivalent to new) cartridges. That means that the cartridge has be completley rebuilt. This would include replacing the drum
Third party and cartridge re fillers do not do this.
So now you are faced with either taking the print cartridge apart and replacing the drum or purchasing a new print cartridge.
I would get a factory new Brother cartridge and not waste my time on refilled or third party cartridges. They are not worth the money and have been know to cause print quality problems and void warranties on printers.
No. You need all the cartridges installed with functioning chips for your printer to work. The reason why you need all the colors when all you print is black is because a small amount of color prints when you print black. The manufacturers want to make up their R&D costs on the printers by selling lots of expensive ink.
The chip on the cartridge needs to be reset. You can find replacement chips on the internet but they cost about half as much as a new cartridge. Also, if you filled the cartridge incorrectly you can get air in the ink lines of your printer which will make it unable to print that color. Overall, I would recommend getting refills from Cartridge World. They always reset the chip, take care of the mess of filling for you, cost less than new cartridges, and are 100% guaranteed to work.
you cannot use the printer by just keeping only 1 cartridge in the printer.as both the cartridges should be present in the printer then let the colour cartridge is empty what the problem is.you can print the black printouts with empty colour cartridge in the printer, but both the cartridges should be in the printer.and if still you get the message as colour cartridge is empty please replace the colour cartridge.the simple option is yopu can get the same cartridge refilled.as the cost of refilling is 10 times less then the new cartridge.
