Hello,

To change the aspect ratio to default, do the video reset (while in standby (red light). Hold the power until it beeps once for turning on then once again to do a video reset)
After going into the video settings after the reset it should be there to change it. If you still don't get a picture try it on another TV. If there is still no picture you may have busted the HDMI port.

Thanks buddy. I tried that while PS3 was plugged into my Celestial plasma tv but still came up no signal. I then plugged it back into my little teco tv and it worked fine. Does that mean my HDMI is busted on the Celestial tv?

  • Anonymous Oct 31, 2017

No problem. I would take a can of air duster and blow it into the Celestial hdmi as it may be dirty. Worth a shot. If that doesn't work then the HDMI port on that tv is dead and the solder will have to be reflowed or the HDMI replaced. Good luck!

Ok I will try that first. If not I will take a look at the HDMI socket and see if there is anything obvious. Cheers for the help Brandon. Much appreciated bud

Not a problem! Just as a tip to finish this off if the HDMI connector is reflowed and you still have problems even after replacing the HDMI port check the components in line with the HDMI by following the traces to it. There should be an HDMI chip driving it and possibly a surface mount fuse closer to the HDMI port that I would check. Good luck and feel free to update this so that others may be able to fix it as well. Bye and have a good one!

SOURCE: HDMI connection problem

On your TV set remote are you selecting the proper input; for example when you have different devices connected to the back of your tv set, dvd player, vcr, cable box etc; you have to tell the tv which device you want to use by selecting the right one on your tv remove input selection. Hope this was any help.

SOURCE: HDMI ON ILO 32HD

I use a Toshiba DVD Player SD-6100 and had the same problem when using a HDMI cable. The ILO TV kept saying no signal. I don't know how to make the PS3 change into sending the HDMI signal, I'm sure though that is is similar as to the dvd player simply changing it in a menu. All I had to do was use a component cable to access the dvd player menu and from there changed the video out signal to hdmi, thus sending a signal to the frikkin tv. It all works now.
The Ps3 should have a similar menu to select video signal output. Try accessing it using a previously working cable, then once changed, switch on the tv back to hdmi input and see if it worked.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: No signal on my TV

try connecting the ps3 to the HDMI only, now when the ps3 is off and all but the single red light is on rest your finger on the on button for about 8 seconds, as soon as you touch it it will turn on but just wait a bit and you'll here the a second beep- this should reset your ps3's video output settings. Try it out, it works for me when i go back and forth from av to HDMI.

Incompatible video signal has received check output device settings

My guess would be that your PS3 has somehow switched the output settings. You can reset the settings by pressing and holding down the power button till it starts blinking. Try connecting it with your RCA cables to a TV and if that works try going into your settings and setting the PS3 back to HDMI.

How do i hook up my ps3 with tv through hdmi as it keeps goin to blue screen

  1. Connect the PS3 standard composite video connector (yellow RCA plug) to the TV composite input and switch the TV to that input. Leave the HDMI cable connected.
  2. Make sure the PS3 is off. Turn it on and hold the power button until you get two beeps (at least 5 seconds). The PS3 navigation screen should be shown on the TV. If not, switch the TV back to HDMI; the screen should be displayed at 480i resolution.
  3. Go to the settings menu. Select Display Settings, then Video Output Settings, then press the X button on your controller.
  4. The on-screen instruction should be "Select the type of input on your TV." Select HDMI, then press the '> (solid right triangle) button on your controller.
  5. You will be offered the choice of Automatic or Custom settings. Try Automatic first (if there is a problem at the end, start over and pick Custom the second time).
  6. Press the X button. You will get a screen asking you to confirm the changes. Press the X button again to confirm.
  7. You may get a screen asking for the resolution setting. IMPORTANT: if your TV's maximum resolution is 720p or lower, do not pick a higher resolution. The TV may not display properly or may not display at all (blue screen). Pick the highest resolution your TV can display.
  8. Confirm this by selecting "Yes" and pressing the X button.
  9. The settings list should now read Connector Type HDMI; Resolution Standard (NTSC); 480p; 720p; 1080p (if applicable). Press the X button to confirm.
  10. You may be offered a choice of audio outputs; you can use HDMI or something else, depending on your setup. Confirm the setting and press X one more time.

At this point, the PS3 should send its signal to the HDMI port following restart. If your TV has more than one HDMI input, make sure you select the one connected to the PS3.

My ps3 seems to b working fine but i cant see anything. no matter which tv i plug it into it says that there is no signal

Hi aztecruler12,

For you to be able to see a picture on the screen you need to make sure that you're on the right input. Inputs on your televsion depends on the cables that you are using. PS3 supports HDMI and Component Cable (Blue/Green/Red). If you're using HDMI Cable to connect the PS3 to your TV then you need to select HDMI Input and if you're using a Component Cable it should be Component Input. To change the input you need to use the original remote of your television. Look for Input or Source button and select the input depends on your cable.

HDMI ON ILO 32HD

it sounds like there is a problem with either the output on the PS3 or the input on the circuit board of the TV. I would try a reset on the PS3 first. Also make sure that there are no other video or audio cords plugged into the PS3 because this will cause the PS3 not to send the signal via the HDMI.
