Yeh, you could remove a link. You should check the chain adjustment though, could be slipping. If it is the chain will continue to slip.

Your drive sprocket is probably warn out and will tear your drive link apart there fore stretching your chain...you can take out a drive link to give more chain adjustment...but thats a short term fix up as it will stretch the chain again until it snaps...not a pleasent thing to happen to you...i would get a new drive sprocket and a new chain

What size file to sharpen rcs1835 chain

For a standard 3/8 inch chain pitch you would use an 11/64 round file.
There are standard cut files and smooth cut files.

A standard cut file offers the fastest removal rate per stroke and is the most widely preferred chainsaw file. The aggressive tooth pattern of the file yields maximum performance in a minimal amount of time.

a smooth cut file is recommended for those who maintain there chain on a very frequent basis. It removes less metal per stroke, which will extend the life of the chain. Because it's a finer cut file, a skilled user can achieve a sharper tooth.

You will also need a flat depth gauge file. A depth gauge file is a flat file with two round uncut edges. This allows for the correct adjustment of depth gauges, prevents gouging and preserves saw chain life.

Good luck with your saw.

Stihl saw leaking chain oil?

Chainsaws can become messy even if the oiler is working correctly. Check the oil level frequently during a cutting session. If frequent refills are necessary, the oiler may be defective

I have had a P4018WT for about 5 years. I recently replaced the chain wand now I need to re tighten after 8-10 cuts. My son said that he had to do the same thing when he borrowed it. I do not think I was...

It is always a good idea to always check your chain tension on a regular basis and adjust it as required before any cutting session. That said, I would not consider that retightning your chain every 8-10 cuts (not sessions) is normal under 'domestric' usage: I would check the condition of the chain bar and more specifically the bar locking nuts (if ensure, just replace the nuts with the appropriate special bar locking nuts).

Wo nt come onmy son pressed the ac power button while i was installing a sky hd box and now it wo nt come on

Hi i haven't had this problem before but i can try to help but i cant guarantee it will work.

First of all i would try turning it off and unplugging it by the switch for 30 minutes making sure you remove the card.

Then i would turn it back on and try from there.

If it still doesnt work i would try changing the fuse and if still no luck you have no choice but to ring sky because your box might have blew something inside it.

Hope this helps :)

Take the old chain to a servicing saw dealer that can cut and make up one to fit nearly any saw made. Plus, they will usually give you good tips on maintaining the new chain as well. Hope this helps!

The sharpened edge will be heading away from you at the top of the chain bar if the chain is not on backwards, and yes it will only cut in one direction, put it on as described and then adjust it so it has about 3/8 of an inch play at half way down the bar and you should be good.

The chain is directional, only cuts one way. If a new chain won't cut, it must be on backwards.
