My computer monitor shows a message "out of range". I can't get rid of the message or show anything from my computer.

The resolution your computer is sending is greater than the maximum support resolution of your monitor that isn't working or is a resolution not supported. Connect one of the monitors that works and turn down the resolution to something small (800x600 or 1024,768) and then switch to the original monitor back, you should see a picture and can adjust the resolution to something larger that the monitor supports.

I continully receive a message of the screen is not in optimal mode of 1920X1080. I have gone to the screen setttings and have applied this yet I continue to receive the message when I go to play a game....

Your game does not natively run at the same resolution as Windows. Check the video/graphics settings in the game itself to adjust the resolution to 1920x1080.
Note that increasing the resolution to this, will drastically increase the load on your graphic card.

Osd menu popping up ..how do I stop it

just to make sure we are talking about the same thing, when talking about the OSD (on-screen display) that normally refers to the monitor only, such as the menu to adjust horizontal positioning, or the mode (digital or analog) setting. Is that what you are talking about? If so, what does it say?

Did this just start? Have you recently changed resolution settings? I note in your manual the following warning:

The On Screen Display manager also features pop-up
warning messages for certain situations, such as if you
attempt to set the monitor resolution outside the
recommended range.
It also says:
Your monitor is optimized for 1024 X 768 @ 60 Hz.
Are all cable connections secure?

And if you right click on the Desktop > Properties > Settings, what is the resolution set to? 1024x768 it will be ok
This means, that your operating system is not set to the recommended resolution of your monitor. Your monitor has a "fixed" resolution where the image will look best. You can change the solution in Windows XP if you right-click on a free space of your desktop, then choose "Properties". In the new window, that comes up, select the rightmost tab. There you can use the slider to adjust your resolution. Just try some different resolutions until the message disappears. If you use Windows Vista oder Windows 7 you can access the resolution windows by right-cliking on your desktop and selecting "Screen resolution".

My blackberry 8310 show jvm error 102

Cause 1:- There is no MX record for the Internet domain associated with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server user. Error 1 appears.
Resolution:- Create an MX record for the Internet domain. Make sure the computer running the BlackBerry Manager is pointing to the correct DNS server.
Cause 2 :- Incorrect DNS settings
Resolution :- Ensure the computer running the BlackBerry Manager is configured with the correct DNS settings.
Cause 3 :- BlackBerry Manager is not allowed to make a direct SMTP connection to that mail server.
Resolution :- Configure the mail server referred in the MX record to allow the direct SMTP connection from the BlackBerry Manager.
Thanks for using fixya.

Message received is "Resolution Notifier best resolution is 1280*1024 notification keeps appearing on monitor and I cannot get rid of it. the picture appears fine, why does the message keep appearing?

This is similar to the "out of range" message that many flat monitors give when the resolution is maybe higher than the monitor would like.

It has given you the suggestion for a good reason. As with most monitors flat or crt it is possible to shorten the life of them if you abuse them in this way.

My suggestion is to lower your resolution to the one it offer you.

Hello i purchased a philips 20PFL4122 lcd tv/pc monitor and i have a problem when i set the resolution on my pc to 640/480 as instucted in the user manual the pages are to large to fit the the screen when...

I have bad news for you.

The monitor you bought (Great Price by the way) is working exactly as designed. The problem is the 640 x 480 resolution. Almost all internet content now days is scaled for either 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 resolution. This is why every time you open a page you have to pan both left and right and up and down to see the entire page.

LCD monitiors are designed for a fixed resolution unlike CRT (TV Tube) monitors that can display different resolutions with equal clarity. This is why when you go to a higher resolution the screen is almost impossible to read.

Since your optimal resolution is 640 x 480, that is the only resolution that displays clearly. That is great for a TV, but sorely lacking as a computer monitor. It is also why the monitor was such a good price (a definite case of you get what you pay for here). So the unfortunate answer is that the monitor will never be satisfactory when used on the internet.
