Could be either one...test your PSON voltage and see if it changes when you push the power on button, if it does then chances are its the main, if it doesn't its most likely the PS...be cautious around the high DC voltages on the hot side of the PS they can get up to close to 400VDC enough to kill a person!!

which caps did you replace? As the normal repair for the first generation dlp is to replace the (4) 1000 uf caps. the (2) 2200 uf caps and the (2) 3300uf caps on the power pwb when you get the 34 error code.

Hello.
Normally T-Con board have nothing to do with powering up of TV. It's only affecting image when TV is on. So we can discard T-Con as a suspect for now.
Remove "new" main board and install the old one. If TV powering up and back light comes on - you've purchased defective Main Board and you should return it for exchange or refund. It happens all the time, boards that they sell most of the time are refurbished and sometime nothing was done and they send defective board to the other customer by error.
In case that TV is not powering up even with the old main board - look for something that you have done during replacement (like forgotten or overlooked connection, broken/bended pins etc.).

Mitsubishi V26 error code 41 with solid red status indicator is caused by leakage from capacitors C9A37 and C9A38 (3300mf/16v). The result is a bad fuse F9A02 (15amp pico) which reports error code 41 indicating short protect. The Mits part number is 283P144040 but any PICO 15a fuse will work.
