Instal ATI driver and utility, choose advanced mode in it, choose power, choose switchable graphics method,
i chose manually and not application needs based, Apply & close, on the desktop choose right click and chose configure switchable graphics. Click on high performance GPU (radeon) or Power sawing GPU (Intel HD)

Desktop display on notebook is turned on its side windows XP OS. How do I rotate display back to normal?

What has probably happened is you accidentaly rotated your desktop for 90 degrees, and you'll need to revert to the previous default setting of zero degrees rotation.
At the Desktop, right-click and select Properties from the popup menu. Then, go to the Settings tab, and click the Advanced button (it's in the lower right quadrant) and go to your graphics card and go to the graphics chip's settings tab (my Intel based graphics card's advanced tab is labeled as Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver, if your PC has ATi it should be labeled ATI Settings or alike). Then look for a setting that allows for rotating the screen/desktop/image (the name of the option will depend on the model of your graphic card), and select a rotation setting of zero degrees.

I have an ACER Aspire 5535 and am getting a Warning "The Catalyst Control centre is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adaptor. Please update your ATI graphics driver or enable...

HI pewilson929. The Catalyst Control centre is a program that lets you configure your video card settings without using the Control Panel - Display. It installs when you download a driver for you specific ATI product. If you get this error it means you may have the correct driver for your video card. Did you get the driver from ACER or ATI?
Just in case uninstall it from Add/Remove and restart and then download this driver from the acer's website.
I hope this helps. Please let us know if this works for you. Thank you :D

Monitor will not display

Your display app controls that, try updating drivers/ software for graphics card on laptop.
Or press the monitor button (usually Fn + something) till it comes right

Define our laptop compaq presario c700

You need the driver for the Graphics card that is installed in your computer. Download Belarc Adviser and install it, and run it. This will tell you lots of information about your computer.
Under Display, it will tell you the type of graphics card you have.
You need to find and download the latest driver for it.
For instance, I have an nVidia Graphics card, so I would go here:
If I had an ATI card, I would go here:

When you have downloaded and installed your driver, you can adjust your Resolution in the Display settings.

Hope this helps

Ati2dvag caught in a loop

These kind of problems can be caused by a number of different things, from software to dodgy ram, PSU etc etc. I'll assume you've already done a virus and adware scan-if not, do it now. If that doesn't work, let's start with the easiest to diagnose and fix-the device driver itself. Download the latest version of the Ati catalyst driver from Ati. Uninstall the existing driver(Assuming you're using Windows XP, Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, then find the Ati graphics driver on the list and remove it), remove the grapics cards entries from Device Manager(Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager, then click the cross next to "Display Adaptors", right click and choose "uninstall"), and reboot into safe mode (tap F8 at POST screen). Run drivercleaner in safe mode (you can download it from here): then reboot, cancel the "Found New Hardware Wizard" which pops up when you restart windows, and run the new driver installation program.
