Re: seagate harddrive diskread error

Go to bios and see there whether it is showing showing your hard disk or not if it is showing then re-install your XP again format your hard disk with the slow formating option, while re-installing it.

How to reset bios?

Restart your computer

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

this will set the boot order

hope this helps

if this fails you might try some of these

Acer: - Ctrl+Alt+Esc

ALR PC: (F2) or (Ctrl)(Alt)Esc)

AMI BIOS: (Del), (F1) or (F2)

AST, Advantage, Award, Tandon: - Ctrl + Alt + Esc

I have a little problem , I have an EliteGroup ECS G31TM9 about 1 half year , the PC started with quickly stop , when I try start it , the same say something about Disk Error and press Ctrl +Alt+Del all...

Hi ;) When the computer first starts up hit the Delete but to get into the Bios or some computer use F1 or F2 to do this to. Once you are in the Bios find were it say SET BIOS TO DEFAULT and restart the computer it sould like the computer is having a hard time finding the harddrive there is a internal battery to keep the Bios memory and if it goes dead the bios can change. You might have to type in the setting of the harddrive manuallyor the hard driver could have got a virus that has deleted a file from the hard drive that you need to reboot with.

Gateway E3600 (Intel D845PT MB) won't boot after MS Update

This error comes when your motherbord not read properly harddrive.
for that first reconnect both connection to harddisk.Power cable and ide or sata cable.
Change SATA or IDE cable then check.
Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes so all settings are factory defaults.
Then when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key then you can see bios screen.
Make sure hardddrive detect in bios.
Set first boot device as harddrive.
Then check.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

When you first turn on your computer keep pressing F8 to bring up the startup menu. Choose the option that says "safe mode". If you can get into safe mode, then try to do a system restore back to the last date you have available and then reboot and you should be okay.

If you can't get into safe mode and you get the same error message then you have corrupt system files and you'll need to wipe out the drive and start over.

Reading error

What type of HDD is this? IDE; SATA; or SATA II? The problem probably is that you are trying to use a SATA drive with a SATA II board. They are not backwards compatible. Hope this helps.
