How can i send an ascii file to a network shared Datamax Prodigy Plus printer? It is not printing via send file, windows driver send command to printer works. Thanks for any help!

copy file.txt lpt1 is the command to copy the txt file to the printer, but it must be correctly formatted for the Datamax. I don't know Datamax's programming language, but at first glance that file looks like ZPL to me. If it is ZPL the Datamax can't print it.

I have a datamax I series and I would like to know how to troubleshoot the stepper motor

What type of problem do you have?
Will the printer not feed?
There has been some troubles on early model of the Datamax I class printers that are detailed in a service bullitin on the driver/power supply.
If the printer feeds intermittently, or runs back wards(hunts) it is probably a board failure. I usually replace the board and the motor on exchange with DAtamax if under warranty.

Dear Sirs, I have a DATAMAX I 4308 ,I am very satisfied with him. Sometimes when I print on low speed after 20 min.labels are printed discontinuosly I had on display MOTOR THROTTLING ,printer stopped...

Motor Throttling is a warning message designed to protect and prevent the power supply and motor from overheating. It occurs after 30 minutes or so of continuous printing and printing slows down to about half the speed. It will eventually go back to printing regular speed, but if it's that much of annoyance it can be disabled under the printer menu under print control. If you wish you can do that.

Printing from windows

as i understand, DPL will works if you are using a serial comunication. When you say "using Generic Text Driver" i can see you are trying to print snce parallel port, as any other prnter. If that is the case, you can forget the DPL. Install an apropiated DATAMAX printer driver, and print from Wordpad.
