Error accessing valid language directory

I got the invalid language error recently rescuing a copy of CADKEY 19 from an old WIndows 2k server for an engineer where I work.
I eventually was able to get rid of the error message by searching for the string CK19 in regedit and altering keys with invalid paths to them from the previous install.
CADKEY 19 seems to store a lot of static paths in the Windows registry, I had to update at least a dozen or so.
Using the Find Next feature with regedit made finding the keys and updating them purty easy.

  1. If you receive the "Error 1404" error message, remove the registry subkey that is referred to in the error message. To do this, follow these steps:

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedt32 in the Open box, and then click OK.
    2. Locate the registry subkey that is referred to in the "Error 1404" error message. Make sure that you locate the exact registry subkey that is specified in the error message.
    3. Right-click the registry subkey that you located in the previous step, and then click Permissions.
    4. Under Group or user names, click Administrators, click to select the Full Control check box under Allow, and then click OK.
    5. Right-click the registry subkey, and then click Delete.

When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
  2. Start Windows Explorer, and then locate the drive:\Winnt\Installer folder. In this folder location, drive is the hard disk where Windows is installed.

Note This folder may be hidden. If the drive:\Winnt\Installer folder does not appear in Windows Explorer, follow these steps:

Office 2007 Update - Outlook not working

Open OL 07 -> Tools -> account settings -> Under the "E-mail" tab -> Check how many account you have. You should see 2 e-mail accounts and if both are the same, delete one account which is not set as DEFAULT. Reason: When you opened OL 07, it checks if there is any e-mail account setup in Outlook Express ( Win XP) or Win Mail ( Win Vista ) and migrate the account settings.
No E-mails in blackberry :
Open OL 07 -> Tools -> account settings -> Under the "E-mail" tab -> Select the e-mailaccount and click on CHANGE -> Go to More Settings -> Advanced -> Enable " Leave a Copy Of messages on the server"
Reason : Outlook must be downloading all the e-mails from your server when it look s for new mails on the server due to which Blackberry does not detect any -mails on the server.

Setting Up and connecting to a Windows 2000 server.

you do this by sharing a folder on you win 2k file server computer and setting appropiate permissions
and you access you're share folder via network neighborhood or my network places. you may also may want to map the share folder for you to easily access stuff in it and put stuff back aswell.

you also need some physical set up
your network should be something like this

internet ISP------ modem-------- router-------- file server (win 2k)
-------- your computer
also you neet to give your network a name so all your computers are part of the same network (peer to peer network)

this will give you detail instructions on sharing folders:

good luck! let me know how it turns out!
