Question about Cameras

Will not stay on

Lens is out and will not retract.  Polaroid screen displays for a five seconds and green light flashes.  Camera turns off.  This looks to be a common problem with no solution.  Is there a way to reboot or reset the unit?

Hi,
When the zoom motor start malfunction then this error shows, to rectify this problem you have to replace the zoom motor(if component level repair is available) or you have to replace the optical zoom lens complete assembly. After replacement your camera work fine again.
Thanks for using fixya.

Turns on for 1/2 second and turns off

It sounds like the focus element inside the lens is stuck. This is usually either due to an impact knocking the elements out of alignment, or to sand/debris entering the focus motor's gear drive and preventing it from rotating. The buzzing sound you hear is the focus motor attempting to rotate, but buzzing up against some obstruction. When the lens extends, you hear a buzzing sound, and then the lens retracts - this is usually the cause of the issue. Unfortunately there is not much you can do externally to fix this problem. The camera will need to be taken apart and repaired by a professional or by the manufacturer. David Millier http://advancecamera.com/repair

C875 lens won't retract

Camera (with new rechargable batteries) won't let the lens come out or if it does it instantly retracts.

Try checking to see if the lens is a little crocked, look at it real closley. If it is then try and pop, or bend the lens back into place, and then turn your camra on and the camra may work propelry.

Polaroid i735 Camera won't turn on. Lens stuck.

I had the same problem, and fixed it by wiggling the lens a little, when turning it on.
After a few tries, it finally wiggled free, and the lens retracted.

Problem with i531

I had a Polaroid i531 that would beep 3 times then shut down & the lens wouldn't retract.

I fixed it like this:
  1. Inspect the lens from all angles and you'll see that the lens assembly is out of sync. (My was looking upward ever so slightly)
  2. Using gentle finger pressure, press in the opposite direction of the abnormal lens direction
  3. I heard a snap, then I powered the camera on.
  4. Camera now works.
