Question about Samsung Propel A767 Cell Phone

1 Answer

I dropped my samsung propel in the pool and i got it out super fast, turned it off, took out the battery and let it sit out for a day in a bowl of rice. then when i turned it on the buttons went crazy and did the wrong things. so i turned it off for two more days and when i turned it back on all the buttons worked but it gets no service anywhere at all, calls or texts. and yes the strips are now pink, but i replaced the battery and my sim card works in other phones

I dropped my phone in a bowl of water. I used a hair dryer to dry the phone out. It came back on and now says "Download & Upload mode.... Emergency" What can I do to get the phone back to the...

I would take the phone's battery out, take the sim card out and let it sit for a couple of hours inside of a bowl of rice. This will make sure that ALL moisture has been extracted from the phone. In fact, if you can let it sit for a couple of days.. that would do the trick. Reinsert Sim Card, Battery and test.

Good luck to you!

I recently jumped into a pool with my cell phone in my pocket (SAMSUNG Reality). I realized it 10 minues or so after. Dried the phone. A day later, the phone will turn on when connected to charger...

When phone gets wet NEVER try to turn it on. Take battery out right away shake water off and put both in bowl of rice for at least 24 hrs. If your not home or don't have rice right away take battery out and get some. We have a bowl of rice on the counter all summer long for those who jump in the pool with phone in their pocket. I have washed them dropped them in the toilet my son jumped in pool with his phone, put it rice for 24 hrs and we were up and running with the exception of the one in the pool, that one cost me new battery on Ebay ($4.95) but phone worked fine, didn't even lose contacts or pictures. But the key is to NOT try to turn it on after its been wet. Water and batteries don't mix.

My samsung impression dropped in water and touch screen broke

I also dropped my Samsung Impression in the toilet, I immediately took the phone took the protective case off, took the battery cover off, and took the battery and my SIM card out and towel dried it as best as I could. Then I sat it on the floor next to my fan and let it dry until I got to my grandparents a little while later and I put it in a bowl of rice, completely covered the phone and battery with rice and left it sit overnight in the rice and all of the next day, so far i've had it on about 20 minutes and have had no problems with it so far, another solution is to sit it in the sun, to further dry it out. Water damage will void warranties on your phone and battery and your provider will know instantly if the damage was water related when they take your battery cover off, there is a small square sticker that when dry and hasn't touched water should be white, but as soon as it comes into contact with water it turns red, there is also one of these stickers on the battery. My stickers were red and after sitting in the rice they look like they got lighter in color considerably, I don't know if that is really possible but appearance wise it looks that way. I hope this helps anyone who has had this problem. Good Luck!

Dropped it in water

Take out the battery, then get a bag of rice out the phone in a bowl cover it evenly with rice and use patents you will need to let this sit for 3 to 4 days now its not a 100 percent garentted method but it works for most phones good luck and leave positive feedback for your free answer today.

Water

Sometimes when electronics are dropped in water, you can still use the. Circut boards have a silicon coat over the circut boards for instances like this. Depending on how long it was in the water, you may be able to still use it. Let the phone dry out for about 24 hrs (take out battery and back cover) then try to replace the battery and start it back up. If it doesnt turn on the circuts were affected and it broken.

Dropped in the toilet..any ideas on how to bring it back to life?

Hi there.... I have had many cell phones that have got wet and stopped working and every time I had to take out the battery and sim card, lay on side for at least 12 to 24 hours and they all came back to life. I don't think the freezer is the best idea.

That has always worked for me. Did you call customer/tech support for your carrier?

normally the phone is no longer any good after water damage like that, but you could take the battery out and let it sit next to some thing worm for a day or two to make sure it completely dries, then put the battery back in. se if that does the trick.
