Whirlpools are notorious for tripping the thermal fuse on the back of the oven but there is a thermal fuse to the control board also on most electronic control models. It is a good chance you will need to replace both fuses.
Does the control board or anywhere of control panel have a fuse? If not beter have it service. Expect a quotation from the serv. Tech after it found how big or expensive theparts tobe replace to make ur unit operational agian
Control panel/computer mother board is bad, needs replace. You can order almost any appliance part online or threw Sears. Write down the model number and type of oven and go from there. They carry countless brands of appliance parts. You'll be amazed at what you'll find at Sears. They'll have it or either have to order it for you. Trace your steps when removing the face panel and follow your wire connections. Relatively quick job. 30-60 min job. Lowes, carries appliance parts you can order as well.
Self clean is hard on controls. I do not recommend self clean. Kills expensive parts. If the temp goes above 300 in the control panel, a control panel fuse will melt, killing the power to the control. It looks like this:

You simply need a new control panel Call us with your complete model number and we'll ship your parts out to you asap! We look forward to working with you!
We just replaced the inner glass last night. The door needs to be removed, then take the screws out that holds the inside panel on. I suggest writing notes of the steps that you take when you remove the panel and glass. Our model had three pieces of glass. Be careful replacing the door, we knocked the lock loose which in turn knocked the sensor for the light to come on. We had to take that part of the oven apart also to fix it. Hope this helps. I may not have done this if it wasn't for the broken glass.
Remove the doors by turning toward you a little toggle apparatus located on each hinge. Locate a small screw on the lower inside edge of the left and right hand trim and then slide off the trim. Remove the lower trim then raise the upper trip and put the left end of the panel inside the top opening. This allows you access to the control panel. Test both the keypad part #8300440 and the control panel part #830219 to see which one needs to be replaced. Order the replacement part, plug it in, reverse the precess above and it should work like new..
It sounds like you need to replace the door latch assembly. One of the switches on it is not working properly so the control is not getting the correct signal for the door latch position. It could be an oven control problem, but most likely it is the latch. Post back with the complete model number from the oven if you need more help and I will answer as soon as I can. Thanks, Mike
