Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC
The power supply is bad. Electrolytic Capacitors inside the power supply. The 'Caps' are filters for the power supply. (Used in both the Input Stage, and Output Stage)
Inside the power supply are Voltage Rails. The 3.3 volt rail, the 5 volt rail, and the 12 volt rail.
Bad capacitors = a bad voltage rail. Not enough power from the power supply. Your processor doesn't have enough power to turn on, or stay on.
Why is the fan running?
ALL the lights use less than 1 Watt of power.
EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.
A processor can use 55 to 125 Watts. Depends on what processor it is.
Plenty of power to spin a simple fan, but not enough power for the processor.
Yes I'm sure, is the answer to your question.
(No I'm not psychic. Approximately 80 percent of the computers that come into my shop, have bad power supply's)
