I have just changed broadband suppliers from Virgin to Sky so my router was changed. My HP Envy 4520 tells me it is connected to the (with new paswords done etc) but I can not get it to print

Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers. Right-click on Envy 4520 and select "Printing Preferences". Navigate to print quality / layout tab and make sure that the color printing option is selected. Save the settings and check for issue resolution.

Can you connect to your virgin broadband wireless through any other devices, like another laptop?

Connect the modem up to the lan port on the router. Or if you know what you are doing you can change the ipadreess on the router.

Sounds to me like the problem is related to the PC hardware. Please check the following in your PC:

- Network card is properly working
- Network cable connecting to the PC is properly working

Unfortunately the only things you can do are: Purchase a router that will support Virgin, or request that virgin make that specific brand/model compatible with their service.

Hi fozzy211 - Please don't rate this 'til were finished. You've got two things going on. You said it's telling you to check the cables and then you say it's saying the router isn't from Verizon. Is it both? Are the cables hooked up correctly to your knowledge? We can fool Verizon's system. Let me know if you actually have two problems. For now I would only hook up one pc via wired until it's working. I'll await your response. Thanks.

From what I can gather from the Sky Broadband site reading the manual installation procedures -- the process is pretty much automatic when it comes to installing their equipment leaving no clues as to how they configure it. What is the model if the Belkin router? Options probably exist to attach your device to theirs either as a router (establishing a second network behind theirs) or an access point joining as a member of their network - meaning there would would be two wireless networks in either case in the house (as there are no indications I have found on the site that the provided the sky router can be configured in any way such as turning off wireless). At least according to the documentation the sky router's wireless is running WPA-PSK security / encryption which is good -- and the documentation for attaching non-sky wireless adapters appears to be documented here.
