My garmin sometimes gives me the wrong arrival time. The clocks and everything are correct. I don't know what else to do. Anyone know how to fix this?

And you are sure that the unit is set to the correct time zone?

My 260 is way off on time of arrival by many hours.

When was the last time you updated the GPS firmware?
Sounds like that is the problem.

My carmin was bought as a christmas present and will not respond

Did you check the configuration to make sure it is set to "car" and not "pedestrian"? Sounds like an easy explanation as to why there would be such a time difference...

About the wrong directions, normally it will always show the same route, unless there is a traffic problem and you use traffic information (sometimes needs a subscription).

Incorrect arrival time

There are a few things to check. On the main screen or selecting MENU, press on TIME.

Make sure the TIME ZONE is correct for your location.

I need to go east and Garmin 350 sends me west

Hmmm, you can find the update details per model, or get a pc, connect the garmin via usb and run the downloaded webupdater, which will take care of all the figureing out for you! If it thinks you are on the wrong side of the road or heading the wrong way it will try to get you to a turning point or exit, or either you told the machine to avoid certain roads check the navigation settings (wrench/navigation/avoid) make sure all is unchecked. Maybe you got to give the garmin a bit of time to get a gps fix before you hit the road, so it has time to find out where in the hell it is.

Rong turns

Hello, I also own a Garmin Quest GPS and I live in Australia, Invariably my quest sends me in the wrong directions, and also in the middle of a highway get a message do a U TURN. I only believe this error resides in the MAPSOURCE Software. and until GARMIN decides to fix the problem there is NO solution for the USER to FIX. I also do NOT believe any more the specification that garnin states with the quest GPS, I believe it can ONLY be bad Telemetry downloaded from the satellites or you have TOO MANY waypoints stored in your GPS. The Solutions I am about to give you are my way of fixing the GPS until the problem reoccures. I suggest you do OPTION 2.

none of the work arounds depend on any parts to be removed.

1. NO RECEIVING SATELLITE TELEMETRY. I beleieve this could be due to a number of reasons, but more so at sometime corrupted telemetry was the problem to fix this,
a turn GPS on when booted (initialised)
b. depress menu
select settings
select Time Setup
when in Time Setup depress MENU
Depress OK button
Depress OK button again on the numberic keypad that appears on the screen (DONE)
what this seems to do is resets the internal date/time clock and the unit starts to work again.
the Second workaround is this but takes hours to perform.

Simply turn the Guest on and allow the battery to fully discharge, this is also a good practice to cycle the battery. usually this works to TOTALLY flush the Memory again, but on my unit I have to setup all the maps again, this is easy to perform, but just takes time. I hope this helps you.
