Question about Lexmark X1270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Paper missfeeding My Lexmark X5470 all-in-one inkjet printer, suddenly, has been missfeeding paper. It feeds about 1/3 of a page maximum and seems only the left side of the paper feeds so that the page skews badly. The machine doesn't notice and continues as if nothing's wrong. This started with no warning and haven't been able to print anything since. This happens with all types and thickness 8 1/2 x 11 paper fed singly or multiply. The machine has only printed 1200 pages maximum in it's lifetime. Anyone got a solution?

Seems since one side is working that you might have a bad motor in your printer. i would take it back to the store you bought it from, assuming your warranty is still within its validility .

X5470 Paper Feeder

In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer......
Good Luck......

Paper jam Lexmark X5470

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Good luck...

When print jobs are stuck in the print que like this I would check your firewall software to insure that the correct things are "allowed" access.
