You need an adapter and the bestis to approach the nearest computer accessories store where such ones are available to which the conversion cord you bought can be used. Please check this interesting utube presentation;
Hello, If you are referring to the actual shape of the prongs coming out of the tv plug(refer to figure): if the prongs look like this, you will have to acquire an ac adaptor for your TV, this adaptor you can locate at any radioshack store, and sometimes it's called foreign ac adapters for US use.
or simply look at the radioshack webpage, it should be listed under ac adapters.
If you have a cable box connected to the TV disconnect that from the TV and see if the issue goes away. If it does then I suspect there is A.C> leakage in the cable box or somewhere in their wiring. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thanks...
This is a very easy fix. Your cable box is not grounded correctly. To fix this you need a AC Plug adapter. This will change your TV ac plug from a 3 wire to a 2 wire. This may sound funny, but trust me on this. I have fix a lot of TV in NY doing just this.
On this type of problem, the first thing I check is the AC line fuse on the power supply.
Follow the Ac plug wire to the power supply board and where it plugs in, you will find the fuse.
If: Then:
It checks bad. Replace it.
It goes out again. Call a Servicer.
It is good. Check for the five volts that goes to the Main PCB.
No five volts, change the power suppy (SMPS)
Five volts is there, more than likely the Main needs replaced and SMPS.
