SOURCE: How do you hook up

Elaborate a bit on what you're trying to do if this doesn't work for you.

This unit has Pre Outs near the center of the rear panel for all audio channels which will allow you to use external amplification for any speakers you wish to use and the receiver will still control the volume.

See #12 on page 10 of the manual. Try retrevo.com

Just run RCA cable(s) from the desired Pre-Out jack to the input(s) on the external amp with its speaker(s) attached. Set the external amp's volume (if it has one) to very high, then leave it alone. Run through the Yamaha's speaker location and volume settings to level-match the external speakers to the rest.

If you want to simultaneously use the Yamaha-attached speakers for the same channels as the external amp you'll have to match the like channel volumes to each other using a volume control on your external amp, then level-match them as a unit to the other channels.

HTR-5750: How to access menu without remote control?

Unfortunately, you need the remote or a universal remote which matches the original remote to access the menus. The manual for the HTR-5750 is available here: https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/5/319575/HTR_5750_5740.PDF Amazon lists a few vendors with an equivalent remote.

I wish that I had better news for you.

I have connected by Bose accoustimass 10 series speakers to Yamaha amp and not getting any sound from from front left and right speakers.Checked the spreakers by swapping and they are in working...

hi,
First off all you have to check the frond L/R out put of your Yamaha AVR. One more thing is check the is the speaker A/B option. you can see the selection button on the frond panel of your receiver. If the out put of the AVR is ok then you have to check the Network circuit inside the acoustimass sub. You have to remove the back panel of sub. There you can see a network circuit board. first of all you have to check the 5 lamps at its input stage. It is used as a protection for the speakers. check the continuity of the five lamps. If any one found open then you have to replace the same. Have added the picture of that network. you can see the five lamps in the left side. Also check the fusible resistors in the board. its value will be written on its top.

I was able to reset audio. Now I can not clear

Are you talking about the * that go into the catagories? you should be able to select what type of surround you want via the manual test option and in the menus (sound menu?) you can select either 7.1 6.1 5.1 etc. or you can turn off the presence and turn on your surround rear settings (like it should be) so that you have 4 speakers in rear three in front and sub or two subs if that floats your boat. You need to be more specific about the OSD. if you mean reset by getting rid of the * on the 18 sound fields, then not having the * next to them means that they are set to the factory standard for that particular field. Which you can also select via the OSD on the receiver itself via the manual test method.

No sound coming out of back speakers when watching DVDs

Make sure you have set blu ray player out put to bitstream,if you have set to pcm for hd master audio and dolby true you need to have a amp to decode this and hook up with a hdmi cable. If your amp has hdmi in and out but no high def audio you may still get multi channel audio.

Hope this helps.

HTR 5790

Hi,

Yes, you would need an iPod to RCA Cable that will connect to your iPod and to the RCA Auxilliary input of the Yamaha HTR-5790 7.1 Channels Receiver. Similar to a Cygnett Groove Transit - MP3 Phone to RCA Stereo Cable or an iPod to RCA Retractable Cable.

Good luck and kind regards.

Powers on for just 5 seconds then off

Took my Yamaha HTR 5790 to a repair shop for an estimate to repair. Cost me $50 for estimate to be applied to repair. It needed two circuit boards replaced at a cost of $390.00.

SOLUTION... they kept my $50 and I bought a new AV Receiver that WAS NOT a Yamaha.

HTR-5790 shut off problem

WOW this worked.. Hold down the ABCDE and the preset tuning right arrow and then hit power.. It puts it into a diagnostic mode, but it stays on.. I just rerouted my video to not use the receiver  and the audio works perfectly now.
