First thing to do is to download the manual and see exactly what the fault indication is.
Only a guess, but I'm thinking S-Protection stands for speaker protection. The speakers are protected by sensing relays and if too high a current is sensed it will turn the unit off. I would check the speakers first to make sure they are connected properly and/or are not shorted. If you have a multimeter, remove the speaker connections, put it on the volts scale and measure the voltage across each speaker pair + & -. They should be all the same (low mV). If they are not then one of your output transistors are faulty.
Sorry probably not much help but good luck as these sort of problems can be hard to track down. Cheers

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.
Causes that can start protect mode are:
Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.
Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.
Internal fault.
Internal
fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not
work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In
this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an
experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you
want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the
product documentation.
Regards.

Try booting to the Safe Mode (F8 at boot) see if you get any further. Also, does the system complete boot (DO you hear windows sounds?) or is the system just hanging after the Splash screen (You can also try an external monitor and press Fn+F8 to enable the external display) If you can get video externally, then is it likely a LCD or video card failure. If you can't boot to the safe mode and you do not hear the Windows Welcome sound that normally plays at the desktop, then the system is not booting and you have either a hard drive failure and/or an operating system failure.
See if you can boot to the BIOS (F2 at boot), then reload the default settings and reboot.
If you suspect the OS is a problem, boot to the XP CD, then run CHKDSK /R and see if that helps
You can also run system Diagnostics by pressing Fn+the Power button

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would be very pleased if my LG WASHING MACHINE could show pictures ;-0)
Sorry, you have posted on the wrong forum by mistake. You will have to re-post on the appropriate one.
Good luck,

First, disconenct it and see if it can come up stand-alone.
Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.
Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.
You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.
If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.
If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.
Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.
