Mold grows on dishes in bosch dishwasher

We recently purchased a Bosch stainless steel dishwasher and have been disappointed. Mold grows on the dishes inside after sitting unwashed for one to two days, and many dishes have mold all over them even after running the dishwasher. We didn't have any of these problems with our previous dishwasher, over 20 years old. It seems as if the dishwasher doesn't vent properly. Smells horrible immediately after opening it up.

Bosch design, although sounded good is terrible. No heat drying, just open the door slightly does not work

The drains hold water. Slime will build. We repeatedly clean the filter and clean moldy slime from the front bottom rubber seal. Our panel is bad and catches and continues to wash for hours. I accept that things like that can happen. But the mold issue is a design error and should be recalled. When I called to ask if there was a recall, the customer service representative was rude and told me I was the first EVER to complain of such as mold. I advise al to call Bosch and inform them there is an issue. I admit the energy saving drip dry sounded great to me. I have five kids and use my dishwasher daily. (or I did until the mold issue) But now we are on a "wash your won dishes" remedy (Which works about as well as my Bosch dishwasher lol) I do not feel safe letting my family use it and when people get sick I suppose Bosch will wish they had recalled. But for now.... clean the filter in the bottom removing the screen, hold the two buttons down to drain the water ( you can read this on the panel) wash often with white vinegar and some times try a clorox rinse. Also a little baking soda in the bottom heps the smell. In addition, I have to clean mold from the rubber seal and the inside parts often. As you might have noticed... I hate my expensive, energy saving, mold producing, Bosch dishwasher and I will never use another product from them again.

Put a bowl filled with 2 cups of clorox on the lower rack and run a wash cycle (nothing else in the machine) this will kill the mold spores in the machine, and clear the smell.

The first time my dishwasher had mold was when it was empty. The water you do not see sits under the screen in the bottom and creates moisture .

Your dishwasher isn't heating up the water for cleaning. i had this problem last year. you likely have a burned out solder connection on the circuit board

Foul odor on dishes and in dishwasher after cycle

It is very likely that your dishwasher is growing mold, in this condition. If it is causing your dishes the same issue, it may be wisest to obtain a dishwasher cleanser(Several detergent manufacturers now sell dishwasher cleaning items), which will hopefully kill off any mold colonies growing in your dishwasher's blades, and in your drain cap.

I have the same problem with mold in the dishwasher and Bosch is much less than helpful to solve the problem. I will never buy Bosch again.

try running the unit with 1/2 cup of bleach without any dishes in the washer this shold kill the mold and once the cycle has completed there wont be any bleach in the dishwasher but run it a couple of times empty to ensure the bleach has done its job

Mold growing on dishes

Recommend that you run another cycle with no DW soap aded, waiting until the dishwasher has filled with hot water and begins to do the first wash cycle. Then add 1/2 cup of bleach to the water and close the door. Allow the cycle to finish. Run it normally with a standard load of dirty dishes. Note: These high efficiency dishwashers count on the "dirt" of the dirty dishes to help wash/clean the dishes. Recommend you not rinse/wash the dishes before you put them in the dishwasher.

Watch for any occurrence of the black dots and repeat the bleach treatment.

New Bosch dishwasher mold before cycle

The Bosch is a very good dishwasher and it is very airtight. I would suggest you NOT leave the dishes inside that long, and always use the Power Scrub Plus cycle if you have it. It will get the water as hot as possible so mold does not continue to grow in the plumbing and filters.

It is NOT the dishwasher unit causing the problem.
