Question about HP D8597A Keyboard

I want to get the symbol @ but I can not find it in shift 2, what is the problem?

    By shift 2 I take it you mean the one at the right of the keyboard rather than the one on the left even though they both have the same function. I am going to take it that you have a UK keyboard layout where the @ should be @ or near the shift key and enter key on the right. If that is the case then it would appear that you keyboard settings are for the US keyboard where the @ key is the " key on the UK keyboard so try pressing shift (either of them) and then shift " keys.

If the 2 works and the shift/2 "@" doesn't, then the key or keyboard is defective. Usually keys quit working in rows of 3 or 4. Check other keys close by to see if they work. You can replace it with just about any keyboard, it doesn't have to be an HP keyboard.

Hold down the blue "fn" button when you press the key, it will give you the alternate character.

Extra symbols?


There are shortcuts, albeit usually Alt + a numeric sequence. Visit http://www.pcdon.com/page3.html for a full tutorial on the subject matter.

Can't get the @ symbol on a HP mini 110-1033ca


To the right of the keyboard is the 'ALT GR' ("alternate graphic") key.
Hold that key down, and press the '@' key.

Press SHIFT 2 to get @

It cant be shifted anywhere else Not sure if I have interpreted your question correctly

you problbly put the machine in "keyboard 2" mode, just put it back into "keybrd 1"

Shift key problem


That means the symbol assigned for shift-2 is currently assigned to the top left character, likely the " symbol. Press shift-Fn to toggle between symbols until the @ symbol works.
