SOURCE: Cuisinart 12 Cup Digital Thermal Coffemaker

I called Cusinart support and they told me to fill with 2 cups of white vinegar and the rest water, let set for three hours. Did that. Had to keep hitting the on button to get this solution through. Then used a solution of one cup of vinegar and water and this ran through the whole cycle. Ran three more with just water and now it works just fine. Brewed coffee this morning with no problem. Didn't think this would work but seems to have solved the problem. They do suggest you decalcify once a month using the vinegar solution...hope I remember to do this as it would be a lot easier than having to get hitting the on button. Good luck!

I am having the same problem, along with the coffee leaking onto the counter. I think this coffee pot is just defective. If not, I wish someone would come up with an answer.

How to brew coffee

USING YOUR PERCOLATOR
1.Wash the Percolator thoroughly before using for the first time.
(See "Cleaning Instructions" section in this manual.)

2.Remove Cover, Basket, Spreader and Pump Tube. Use cold, fresh
tap water to fill Percolator. Fill according to markings on inside
of Percolator for number of cups desired. Use cold tap water -
the automatic brewing cycle is timed to begin with a cold
water start.
NOTE: The bottom of the Pump Tube Spring marks the maximum
capacity of the Percolator.

3.Wet Coffee Basket to help keep small particles of coffee from sift-
ing through. Place Basket on Pump Tube. Add desired amount of
regular or percolator grind coffee to Basket.

4.Place Pump Tube with Basket into Percolator so bottom of tube is
set into Center Well. Place Spreader on top of Basket and snap
Cover onto Percolator. Attach cord to Percolator and plug into
standard household 120 volt AC wall outlet. Brewing begins
within seconds and continues at a cup-a-minute speed

5.When coffee brewing is complete, percolating will stop. The
Percolator automatically switches to "KEEP WARM" setting to
preserve fresh-tasting coffee at hot, ready-to-serve temperature.
For best flavor, remove Coffee Basket, Spreader and Pump Tube
when brewing is completed.

Very little water is dripping into the carafe

Try to run vinegar undiluted through the coffee maker first. If this does not help, you may have a plugged valve in the coffee maker or a tube/hole where the coffee maker water should drip through. if this coffee maker has a dispenser(where you put your cup against it and the coffee comes out) then there is likely a plugged up valve. This will require dismantling the coffee maker to clean it. Usually coffee makers get plugged up because coffee leaves a residue that requires scrubbing at time to remove.

Filter cone is full of hot water & thermo pot has about 5 - 6 cup

Te water fill lid is not closed or or the flow valve in the tank is plugged. Remove the basket and clear the hole in the bottom of it.. If new, return it to place of purchase.

Funny tasting coffee

Vinegar/water cleaning is a good idea, but it won't necessarilly solve funny-tasting coffee. First, replace your charcoal water filter - you can get the Cuisinart brand-name replacements at Lowe's, Bed/Bath/Beyond, or Williams-Sonoma in most areas.

To do the vinegar/water cleaning, just pour 1/3 caraffe distilled white vinegar and 2/3 caraffe water into the water reservoir and brew it like it was regular coffee - I would simply bypass the self-clean function if your Cuisinart has one. Repeat up to 3 times, using a fresh batch of vinegar each time.
(if you have the caraffe-less DCC-2000, then just pour in 4 cups vinegar and 6 cups water).

Then run a full cycle of water. Then run a combo of 12 tsp lemon juice and 12 cups water (or 10 tsp and 10 cups water) to improve the taste.

On your next batch of coffee, use bottled water just to rule out any possibility that your local water supply may be contributing to funny-tasting coffee.

Now your coffee should be tasting fine again.

What is the water filter for. and where could I purchase such

The charcoal water filters improve the taste of the coffee, although they are definitely optional. You can get replacement filters at Bed, Bath & Beyond; Williams-Sonoma; and sometimes Lowe's.

Cuisinart DCC2000 quits brewing after 1or 2 cups

Finally, I got my coffee pot to run through without stopping several times. To fix it I had to run vinegar through eight times! Never before has it taken so many cycles to clean out a pot. It is still spluttering a bit so today I am going to get more vinegar or maybe even CLR and run it through a few more times.

Cuisinart dcc-1150 coffeemaker

To replace water filter: Pull water filter holder out of reservoir, snap open, insert new charcoal water filters (can be ordered from Cuisinart or purchased froma store like william-Sonoma)

To clean machine: Run 2 cups water and 2 cups distilled white vinegar through machine like you would normal coffee.

To get rid of annoying self-clean lite: unplug machine from wall outlet for 20 minutes or longer.
