I plugged my guitar amp into the headphone jack, to record useing the sound recorder. I started playing and recording, when the guitar when dead. And the speakers went dead. In fact none of the jacks work now: mic,line in,line out,phones, speakers. I have an 8 channel onboard sound circut. Did I blow it! help I'm goin nutz!! Maybe I need to get a sound card and driver.

As a guitarist did you for one minute think of the difference between the impedence of your guitar and the sound card of your PC?
If they were compatible then why aren't the biggest bands using a computer direct connection instead of lugging heavy equipment all over the world.
You do not have an 8 channel sound card, you had one!
