Check temp inside of fridg it should be 0 degrees on freezer and 33 to 36 degrees on fridg section.. If not the defrost timer could be stuck.. if stuck you need to find defrost timer and manually turn till it shuts off and then turn again till it starts running. if it sticks again you will need to replace it..........

Hi is it normal that the middle Paleo that the doors close onto seems really hot? We have an American style fridge freezer, everything else seems ok, but I have never noticed it before!! Thank you

Again a similar post as my last. This is normal unless the refrigerator is not cooling properly. There is a pipe that goes around the door that carries hot Freon to keep the doors from sweating where the cold inside meets the warm air outside. This area will become extremely hot should the airflow below the refrigerator become obstructed or the condenser fan below the refrigerator not be working properly

I am finding brown flakes behind my whirlpool refrigerator. Why is this happening and how can I stop it? There is no ice or water dispensor on my refrigerator.

Hi Aaron !
I believe the brown flakes you are finding are coming from evaporated condensation. Let me explain ! As warm air and product hold more moisture then cold air or product when the door is opened and closed cold air in the fridge falls out and warm or ambient air replaces it. ( warm air rises and cold air falls ) The refrigeration process has an evaporator on the inside that is essentially colder than the temp you are maintaining the fridge at. Moisture is drawn out of the air and product and freezes to the evaporator thus drying the air in the fridge. When the compressor cuts out and the ice melts the moisture goes down the drain pipe and either collects in a container on top of the compressor or in a tray that has heated pipes from the refrigeration process through it. The moisture is then evaporated and leaving only the impurities of the air, dust and/or wet spills in the fridge. If you have a fan under you fridge or a breeze goes through there it is easily disturbed. Not a lot you can do as it is a part of the process. Wipe up spills, reduce door open times and keep door seal cleaned with warmed soapy water. Check fridge is level and square and doors close tight. Hope this helps tiger !

it could have advanced to the defrost cycle, If you can unplug it for 12 hours and not lose all your food, Try that first, with the hotter months ice slowly builds up from the repeated open and closing of the door , once the defrost can catch up it should work ok

I have a GE GSS25LGMF side x side refrigerator. The compressor never shuts off and everything in the fridge section is freezing. Is this a thermostat problem?

it could be the damper part number WR49X10091,if the damper door isn't closing correctly cold air will just keep coming into the fridge side from the freezer, usually the damper door opens to let the cold air in when the fridge starts warming up and when it gets cold enough the door will close but your damper is stuck open

Water build up on inside of fridge door of ge french door fridge

humid air in the house. any time you open the fridge, house air is sucked in. when you close it, the fridge cools the air and moisture from the warm air condenses on any cold surface. also check to see if there is a gap in the seal.

obviously a filter leak. the water shuts off when the filter is removed. either it wasn't installed properly or it has a bad gasket. as for the fridge getting warm, the water probably collected and froze to the evaporator coils and now resrticts the cold air flow. you need to turn off the fridge, empty it out, leave the freezer door open, and let the coils defrost on their own. or remove the back panel in the freezer and defrost the coils with a hair dryer. you will need to soak up some water, but not nearly as much. once it's defrosted, dry it out, close the doors and turn it on while it's empty. when it's cold enough, replace the food.

Warm Water out of water dispenser

Usually the coolness comes from a large coil of plastic tubing in the refer compartment that stores the water. Check that the refer compartment is cool enough. Also see if running a large glass or two becomes cool again and stays cool for a while. Usually the very first 1/2 glass may be warm until the "cool" water that is stored in the coil of tubing finally makes its way to the dispensor.
