You have to manually assigin your controllers (Instruments) Once the game is up and running hold your PS button go to controller settings and change as for being multiple players 2 and 4 lights on mean your player 6 etc just have to wait for update for the fix

I've tried everywhere to find a solution to this problem; my Guitar Hero 5 guitar will not connect to my PS3, I've searched to almost literally the four corners of the internet to find a solution, but...

Turn the PlayStation 3 on and start the game.
On the dongle (while it's plugged in) press the button, then on the guitar look for a small pin hole, press a paperclip into it and hold for three seconds. And then press the PS button on the guitar.
That should take care of that!

I cant connect my guitar to the ps3

1. First of all, make sure the batteries are in the guitar.
2. With your PlayStation 3 console powered off, insert the wireless receiver into an available USB connector on the console.
3. Press and hold the PS button on the guitar to turn it on.
4. Turn on your PlayStation 3 console.
5. Press the connect button on the wireless receiver (not the guitar). The status light will flash, indicating that the receiver is searching for the controller.
6. Press the PS button on the guitar to establish a connection with the receiver. (You may have to wait for the receiver to stop flashing so fast. I think it flashes real fast at first, but then slows down.)

Also, make sure the guitar is assigned as control port #1.

I hope that helps.

Another thing that may help. Unplug all your usb cords that recharge your headset or controllers. Make sure the USB connector is the only thing pluged in and in the furthest left slot. That is what i had to do.

Light on receiver and guitar both flashing, but no buttons register.

Check that the guitar is configured in one of the first 4 controllers. Do this by pressing the PS button on the guitar, then change control number to any of 1-4.
