When you save your image to the computer, you should have an option to Save As. In Save As, you can select what format you want it in with a drop down menu below the name you want it saved as. If your software for the camera does not support changing formats you can try a free program that does a good job and is easy to use.
Press the Home button too to see how to do it.

I have problem i n download

Unfortunately I cannot see the picture.
Please add a comment with the same picture in 2 different formats: .jpg and .png.
That means that you open the picture, save it as each format and upload here, result = the same picture twice but in different formats - .png, .jpg.

.jpg = aswell it is called .jpeg (no difference).

When i try to view my pictures on my camera they say "unrecognizable format",what do i do?

Did you change the name extension example .jpg to .bmp ? Connect it to the computer and see the extension of the pictures. To see the extension one must open tools from the documents viewer and choose folder options and remove the very good from the box hide that you might see the extensions of everything and see what format you are able to see on your camera and format you are not able to see. Hope you got an idea. Goodluck

I record video on my sx110. It creates a .jpg file. I upload the file to my macbook, but it seems to be a single picture. I want to upload the entire video and then convert it to a format that can be...

jpg and jpeg are both "picture only" file formats. it might have put it in another folder on the camera. the file will be either .mpg , .mpeg, or .avi most digital cameras save as .avi witch is perfect for uploading online! I would check every folder that is on the camera. there's gotta be an AVI file in there somewhere! Good luck hope this helped!

I have images in .ppt format that I would like to upload to facebook. Is this an acceptable format?

.ppt is the extension for PowerPoint presentations, so it's not really an image format. This is why you willnot be able to upload it on Facebook.
However exporting the images from the .ppt is very easy! Just follow these simple steps and you will have your images exported and ready to be uploaded.
To export your PowerPoint slides to other file types (BMP, WMF, JPG, PNG, etc)
  • Open your presentation and choose Save As from the File menu.
  • In the Save As Type dropdown listbox, choose the file type you want to save.
  • Give the file a name and click OK.
  • PowerPoint asks whether you want to export just the current slide or your entire presentation. The question is worded a little oddly, so read the message carefully before clicking Yes or No.

When you save the entire presentation rather than a single slide, it uses the name you give it, makes a folder of that name, then creates the exported files in that folder, giving them names like Slide1.jpg, Slide2.jpg and so on.

Trying to upload pictures to my Corel software from the SD card in my camera & for a lot of the photos, it says there is no bitmap and won't upload. Help!

ensure you have your corel software looking for .jpg files instead of .bmp files, as canon saves its pictures in either .jpg or .raw format or both.

You can open each picture with windows paint (or some other picture editing software like adobe) and once open, click on the SAVE you can save it as another format. If it doesn't, then when you save as, you can add the extension to the file name. So let's say I have a BMP called Summer.bmp . I open it and when I name it I call it Summer.jpg (yes, type the dot followed by JPG) and when you click on the save button, it will save it as a JPG. I hope this helps.

Setting the format of the picture i scan

Ok I am not sure why ya scanner won't save in JPEG .. however converting the files to JPEG is relitively "Simple". After saving the Scanned picture.. Open it up in say MS Paint, Painshop etc, then simply choose "Save As.." from the File Menu, and save it as a NEW image file this time with a JPEG extension. IE: origional... picture.png or picture.bmp ... save as ...picture.jpg .. ya should be good to go. :)
