Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
My washer will not work on spin cycle but all other cycles work, which part is most likely bad? It is a
Model number 20432990
ANd the main switch part number is 3951166b
In almost every case, when a washing machine quits in mid-cycle, it's the timer. The lone exception would be if you have a failing pump. Before buying a timer switch, you should pull the bottom panel and inspect the drain hose and pump. Sometimes something will fall out of a pocket and wind up lodged in the pump, which would prevent the machine from spinning out and draining.
On the surface, it still sounds like a timer but it's well worth your while to check the pump just the same. Best of luck and feel free to post back with any questions.
