Question about Televison & Video

RCA 27V412T Hello Experts, I am hopng that you can give me some help on my TV. The above model TV of mine (just a little over 2 years old) is channel surfing without anyone pushing the remote. The ordeal started with the TV turning off and on by itself, then it started going through all of the cable channels from highest to the lowest. The remote will not work the television at all. The TV is doing the surfing on its own. Has anyone had their RCA TV do the same thing? Is there an inexpensive fix? Anxiously awaiting, Ivy L.

I repair these for a living and usually this is caused by the "tact switches" (buttons essentially) on the main pcb. This can be fixed easily by someone who is familiar with working with soldering small parts by changing the switches. The problem is most service shops must charge $60-$100 for bench time on a repair like this which is hard to spend with the replacement cost being so low on this product.

Hopefully you have the problem solved.

If not, the RCA plugs, listed as input 1 and 2 are shown on channel 91 and 92.

I recommend connecting the DVD to either input. Turn on the DVD. Then run the auto programming function of the TV. It will find and program the channel for the DVD. Then use the channel up or down on the remote you are currently using and you should find a working DVD.

Hope this helps.

You can purchase an RCA universal remote that will let you access the A-V inputs. These only cost about $10.00 or so. Stargazer
