I have a problem,, that my jaguar x type 2.0 D does start all the time. The weather hasn't been kind, with snow and minus condition. I've never had a problem with my car til now, I've had to have it jump...

You can try insulating your battery (cold might still get thru) or purchasing a solar recharge kit from an aftermarket company. Cold weather will affect the chemical reaction between the plates of the battery and will not put out the high amperage required. I would also recommend to keep a portable battery booster in case you cant get a solar charger. Keep the booster in a warm bag inside your trunk and always charged for when this happens. Keep it during the duration of your winter weather. In summer you will be fine.

Change the mass air flow meter. Its located on the inlet pipe from the air filter. Also change the air filter. That gets damp in cold and snowy conditions causing the fuel mixture to be to ritch. That will cause the engine management light to come on.Good luck phil.

I had one go on me soon as I replace it it started up keep in mind these switches become dense get hot and cold especially when they cool down rapidly in this cold weather hope this helps it has been a while but you should have two switches around your thermostat housing one is for fan and gauge the other is the perhaps the one just call dealer ask about thermal shut down sensor keep in mind this is not OBD 2 this is a old system and computer relies on that thermo switch for fuel pitch and mixer!! hope this helps good luck to you!
