Question about Samsung HC-R4755W 47" HDTV

1 Answer

Samsung HC-R4755W 47 in hdtv will not come on

Immediately after plug in, TV makes a static noise for 1 second then the standby mode red led blinks 6 times then goes off for a couple of seconds and then the cycle repeats, I checked the voltages on power supply board and it seems that the voltages are going up like it is intended to start up (this happens while it makes the noise) but then something makes the voltages to shut down. What is pulling the voltages down? or it is just a faulty power supply board?. Where can I get the schematic?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

I think you have a fault on the chroma board and on the picture frame board. If you can trace it yourself try these two locations otherwise call out a competant technician. hope this helps.

It's simple. Your TV does not like you. Perhaps you need to speak kindly to it before you force it to watch BBC for hours. Buy it a scone.

SOURCE: Immediately Shuts off with blinking light codes

I suggest doing a google search using the tv model # and brand.
I have learned myself that different big screen tvs seem to each have their own common problems. I have read before of power supply issues that cause what your describing.

SOURCE: WILL NOT POWER ON, STANDBY, LED, TIMER LIGHTS ARE BLINKING.

Check the capacitors on the power supply first. If any have domed tops or signs of leakage, replace them. I had two go bad on mine. Call electronics parts supply stores first as these are not your average capacitors.

If the lamp has been replaced I would think the Lamp ballast would be most likliest followed by the color wheel and then the Digital board. You can get any part needed for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com just leave them a email they respond quickly.

Our Samsung tv will not turn on/power on. It sounds like it starts to power on, the light blinks twice then you hear something, the light stays on solid after that. This model usually has an audible tone...

I would suggest two things you need to examine :

First remove and examine the lamp to make sure it is not shattered or fractured.

Second examine the color wheel that faces the lamp (see attached photo) and if you had a fan like sound or high pitched whine before that points to the color wheel.

The color wheel is a do it your self replacement (I can help) and takes less than a hour.

Let me know what you have tried and if the lamp or color wheel are intact.

Hello SSKS14494:

What is the Model of your Television? Brand? If this is a DLP type unit then more then likely your Lamp went out.If it has been more then 21/2 years since you replaced it then its time for a new one. If it made a buzzing noise then went out if it is a DLP then your Color wheel has Shattered in its housing or the which is fairly easy to replace. Most televisions today will give you an error code such as a blinking red or green light blinking a certain number of times in 5sec intervals between blinks, if this is the case then count the number of times the light blinks before it pauses and starts blinking again. This is the information you would give to your servicer, Also check ur user manual it sometimes gives a list of error codes and their meanings, in the troubleshooting section of your manual..
