Question about IBM X346 HOT PLUG POWER SUPPLY (74P4410) Power Supply

2 Answers

I have an IBM 74P4410 power supply on which the DC led does not light up. There is no signs of damaged or heat stressed components. Any idea?

If you are supplying ac voltage to it and there is no dc voltage coming out, this is a rather sure indication that it needs to be replaced. Power supplies can fail without any physical signs sometimes, sometimes your can hear a high pitch whine coming from them if you put your ear down to them, yet another indication of need for replacement.

To make sure that your PC is working, try to check the CPU Fan is working. If not then no power supply going through into your Motherboard. At this case see to it that you connect properly your power supply into your motherboard and with all the power buttons are correctly connect. Look at it inside your CPU ok! then tell us what is next problem on your unit.

Sounds like a bad cap, check the power supply's again, if you are yousing a multie meter you will not see power supply ripple try a scope or meter in the AC position for DC components this might show up

I have a herritage t101, it displays the Ls error and has no drive whatsoever but was working a few month back

The SCR lower board is designed with diagnostic LED lights. The LED's are color coded according to
their specific function. Green indicates a properly operating treadmill; the green lights should always
be ON when power is supplied to the treadmill. Yellow indicates a treadmill function. Red indicates a
treadmill malfunction. Here is a list of each LED and what it signifies:
MOTOR (yellow) - The MOTOR LED illuminates when dc (direct current) voltage is sent to the drive
motor. The LED gets brighter when the dc output is increased.
RLC (yellow) - The RLC (R = Reactance / L = Inductance / C = Capacitance) LED illuminates when
the filtering system is properly working. The filtering system includes the capacitor and filter choke. If
there is a short in either component then the RLC light will not come on.
DN & UP (yellow) - The DN and UP LED lights tell us if the elevation DN and UP relays are
functioning properly. When the LED lights, it tells us that the relay has energized and is sending high
voltage (110vac or 220vac) to the elevation motor.
AC PWR (green) - The AC PWR (Alternating Current Power) illuminates when AC line voltage is
delivered to the treadmill. It then passes through the in-line fuse (110)/s(220) and lights the AC PWR
LED.
+12V (green) - When the proper AC voltage is delivered to the treadmill, passes through the in-line
fuse/s, through the full wave bridge rectifier (changes AC to DC), through the transformer (steps down
DC to +12vdc) then the +12V LED lights.
This the board LED, who control the signal for Main Motor+Elevation Motor. You must see, the LED DN+ UP( both will be Lit) in any position down or Up.
2) The RELAY board is designed with diagnostic LED lights. The LED's are color coded according to
their specific function. Green indicates a properly operating treadmill; the green lights should always
be ON when power is supplied to the treadmill. Yellow indicates a treadmill function. Red indicates a
treadmill malfunction. Here is a list of each LED and what it signifies:
AC PWR (green) - The AC PWR (Alternating Current Power) illuminates when AC line voltage is
delivered to the treadmill. It then passes through the in-line fuse (110)/s(220) and lights the AC PWR
LED.
VDC (green) - The VDC LED will light when it receives DC voltage from the DC power supply.
DN & UP (yellow) - The DN and UP LED lights tell us if the elevation DN and UP relays are
functioning properly. When the LED lights, it tells us that the relay has energized and is sending high
voltage (110vac or 220vac) to the elevation motor.
UPSW (green) - This LED will illuminate when the low voltage dc is delivered from the upper display
board to the elevation UP relay. This low voltage dc is what energizes the coil of the relay.
DNSW (green) - This LED will illuminate when the low voltage dc is delivered from the upper display
board to the elevation DOWN relay. This low voltage dc is what energizes the coil of the relay.
BELTSW (green) - This LED will illuminate when the low voltage dc is delivered from the upper
display board to the belt (motor start) relay. This low voltage dc is what energizes the coil of the relay.
SPD (yellow) - The SPD LED flashes on and off (relative to speed) when the speed sensor is
operating properly.
PWM (yellow) - This LED will light when the upper board is sending a speed signal to the PWM.
Both the PWM LED and BELTSW LED must be lit for belt movement.
Finally this this Relay Board, the Each Led will be Lit, for any Relai control for DN down, or UP elevation motor. Use the contact cleaner, you can find it in R .Shack.
see the diagram attached.

My tv would shut off automatically after turned

Unfortunately it isn't age that causes these TV's to fault, no, it is the actual Power flowing through them and the heat and stress this places upon every component in any unit. Unfortunately, electronic devices get destroyed by the very thing that makes it function. Either slowly, over time, or suddenly, from a Power Spike, or Surge. This damages the "unlucky" device that is plugged in and turned on. or as said over time the heat stress, and electrical strain, can cause a component to fail. slowly, bit by bit, over time until, it reaches a point, where it fails catastrophically. Well now you know how it all happens. My advice is to get a "Quote" for repair, and that way you can decide on repair, or replacement,

We are using this server for more than 3 years. yesterday, server switched off due to voltage surge. afterthat it is not turning on. even smps not switching on..

Sounds very likely that if the power supply isn't even showing signs of life then the surge has killed it, it'll need to be replaced. If your lucky then no other components have been damaged.

The supply in that unit (according to google) is an IBM 340W Power Supply - 24P6898. My searches have found a few refurbished units for about £40.

High pitch tone from tv

Hello, This is either a problem with the ballast or the switching transformer in your set. These two components often have this problem. The ballast supplies the energy needed to fire the backlight used to light the LCD screen, and the switching Power Supply Transformer helps with the conversion of AC to DC and DC to pulsating DC and then to DC again. These components are under constant stress, and they tend to cause this problem. In addition the circuitry attached might be causing the electrical stress and should be looked at also. I hope this helps, Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

WILL NOT CHARGE BATTERY

Do you get steady or blinking CHARGE indicator light on the laptop somewhere? If not, the WALL-Wart/External power supply or its connection is bad. This can be due to stressed wiring, bent DC socket or cold-solder joint where it mounts to the motherboard (inside case)... or bad outlet (house socket) or a blown PS
