Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone

1 Answer

Battery issue still cannot be solved, hard reboot tried.

Hi guys, im also having a battery problem. I also having the minimal red line battery sign and the lighthing sign whenever I plug it to the computer or using the socket charger. I already had charged it for like 2 days and when i unplugged it, the battery will blink for 2 seconds, and then fade out (dies).

I look through some advice through the internet, and most of them perform the hard reboot. So i tried it, but it seems to not to work with my iPhone. I was trying ask if there's another way of solving this problem or I just had to send my phone back to Apple??

Hey Joed911,thank you for all your helpful and useful advise. Now my iPhone is coming back alive, however I have something to ask you. When i plug the socket adaptor cable into the iPhone, it shows it was charging with a lighting sign in the battery icon at home screen. However, after a few good minutes the icon changes into the 'plug' icon inside the battery./

May you explain it to me about this issue?
Your help is very much appreciated by me.Thank you once more :)

However, everytime i unplugged it with the AC plug icon the battery is still flat. Not long, the problem comes again.

This is really frustrating for me, i guess il just bring it back to Apple Store.

However, every time i unplugged the cable with the Ac plug icon on, the battery is till that flat. Not long, the phone dies again.

This has been really frustrating for me. So i'll guess i will just send my phone to the nearest Apple store.

Joed911,I really appreaciate all your efforts in assisting me. I really do. Do help me when you know how to solve my problem.

Have you tried all the resets:(if you have, bring back to the Apple store)
If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

The "lightning " icon means that the battery is charging. The " AC plug" icon means that it is on AC power and that it is charged.

My iphone wont charge it shows minial red line starts after 2seconds but wont charge and switch off again

You need to let it sit like that for 20-30 minutes before trying anything. The battery needs a minimum charge before it will start. If the battery gets too low, it will show the "minimal red line."
After 20-30 minutes, it should be able to start up again.

Screen shows battery with a red line through it

This usually means the bb and battery got a little wet or has other issues. Try these solutions in order. They go from easisest to hardest. NOTE: If you have an insurance policy on the bb probably best just to take it in.

1. Remove the back cover. Remove the battery and the SIM card. Wait 30 seconds. Replace SIM, battery and back cover. Reboot. Plug in the bb and charge fully.

2. If that doesn't work, allow the bb to remain unplugged but ON for about 24 hours to drain the battery. Remove back cover and battery. Allow battery and opened bb to sit in a dry environment for 24 - 36 hours. Relace battery and cover. Reboot. Plug in the bb and charge fully.

3. If that fails retry step 2 but allow battery to FULLY drain then dry out again.

4. Take in.

Most likely the lithium Ion battery has been discharged. Leave it plugged in for 24 hours without turning it on and it should charge the battery.

3. If that fails, try another battery (a friends or one from your cellstore) to see if tat's the problem. If so, (a) retry step 2 but allow battery to FULLY drain then dry out again, (b) buy a new battery for $60 retail or (c) buy a new battery on ebay for a lot less.

4. Take in.

My iphone wont charge

I had this exact problem too - same as the first two posts anyway.

It seems to be just a software issue and was easily resolved for me with a full power off and reboot. Here is how to do that safely.

Plug in the phone using the wall socket charger, leave it for a few hours to get a charge (i know it doesn't look like its charging). Later, press the on/off button. The battery icon appears with just a thin red line. Let it go back to black. Then press the the on/off button and the menu button simultaneously for about 8 seconds. A red button should appear on the screen with a question asking if you want to power off the phone. Say yes. (I think it was a slide bar, but can't remember now.) Wait a few secs while the phone powers off. Then remove the power plug from the phone. Now reinsert the power plug. After a few (worrying) seconds of nothing, a white Apple logo appears in the middle of the screen, a few more seconds and the iphone main menu appears. No data has been lost, no settings are altered, and best of all, the battery shows a full charge and seems to be back to normal again.
