Cleaned feed dogs at top, removed both plates on the bottom and cleaned, the spring looks fine, all parts move. Feed dogs lift and lower but don't move front to back to move fabric.

Check for lint buildup between the feeddog teeth, will look like felt pads.....remove it !.........this little housekeeping should be done regularly......also ensure the correct stitch length is selected, not set at zero (OK, unlikely, but can happen !!)

I can not find the screw. does anyone have a picture of where the screw is?

Did you turn the handwheel? The feed teeth will not come up until the machine is operated. Run it a few stitches and they will come up.

Hi,
The Kenmore is made by Janome. The Janome has a little cam (lever) that when flipped, is pushed out of the way so the feed dogs will drop down. Over time (read too long between thorough cleaning and oiling), the cam will stick over where it is pushed. It is physically pushed when dropping the feed teeth, but it when you flip the lever back, it relys only on a spring for it to pop back. It only has one spot in a complete hand wheel rotation to pop back, and if it sticks at all, it wants to stay down.
Solution:
Hold the feed dogs up while turning the handwheel. This can help it pop up. If that doesn’t work, remove the two bottom screws under the free arm and look for the cam. It like the on the very end of the machine even left and further back from hook. As you turn the handwheel, you’ll see it rotate as a lopsided wheel on the shaft. Gently push it right while you turn the handwheel. Then clean and oil it so it will move more freely

Check to see what pattern is selected. Be sure it isn't the buttonhole.Select straight stitch.Move the stitch length setting to 4.Turn the handwheel and see if the feed dogs move forward. Press the reverse lever and see if they move backwards. Select straight stretch stitch and turn the wheel to see if the feed dogs move forward and backward.Check the presser foot release on top of the machine and make sure there is pressure on the foot.
Sometimes the reverse assembly on this machine stops working because it has the wrong type of grease on it and it turns into a hard gummy mess that won't let it work.

Sometimes, I have to help Push fabric through, even though I have increased the tension, via the ... Feed dog. Depends on the thickness of the fabric. And texture.
It seems you know how to clean everything that would need cleaning. Good for you! Not many know what you know. Just try helping the fabric Feed.
