Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
As long as the switch on the side of the cable isn't on HD or TV when it needs to be on the other depending on your tv type, then I would first try switching the cable (If you have a friend, borrow his cable to try this).
If that doesn't work, then most likely the "X" Clamps on this unit need to be replaced. They are the number one part to fail on these systems and cause both the no video problem and the Red Rings of Death Problem.
The real cause of the Xbox 360 no video issue then is actually overheating. The excess heat causes damage to the "X" clamps which hold the graphics processor unit in place. When these clamps become sufficiently loose, the graphics processor/video card stops working, hence the no video on your Xbox 360.
Replacing these clamps can be a pain, but if you want to try to do it yourself, then follow the instructions on the following website link
Hopefully, by replacing these, you won't encounter the RROD problem any time soon either. Let me know how this turns out.
