Do you have an input to the charger? If so, check the fuses.

OK my 2000 Discovery does the same thing. Try and hit the inverter charger with your fist 3-4 times, then listen and see if the charger fan starts up. I will be bringing my inverter to Portland this week to have the tech look at it. The other thing is it could be the transfer switch. Will let you know.

SOURCE: inverter won't charge

The problem is the batteries. 1) Check the age of them to assure they are not near warranty limit. If so change them. 2) They must be topped off. I recommend using distilled water within every 30-60 days. Summary: After doing item 2 above charge them with an external charger; while connected to inverter is ok. Does this help?

SOURCE: i am using microtek 810.

If this is a 12 volt battery situation, 24.6 volts is not doing good things for your batteries--it will buckle the inner plates causing immediate battery failure. Were the fuses themselves blown or just the fuse mounts which may have been underrated. You definitely need a schematic for this system--try googling 'microtek 810'. Good luck!

My Microtek inverter continues to charge my batteries even when it was fully charged , making the batteries to heat up significantly

As you know, excessive heat cooks batteries and good thing you caught that now ~ (in fact it's amazing that batteries don't cook inside engine compartments)!

I suspect your Inverter may be out of warranty and if it is, will you consider a external solar panel regulator? This should limit the charge to your batteries and your Inverter... it's what I would do.

My 1000w eliminator inverter only puts out 100w. overloads and goes to Fault

Check your battery voltage when running the inverter. At 100W, the voltage may drop several millivolts maximum, initially and will slowly drop. At 100W, the inverter may draw 15 to 20 amps from the battery. At 1000W, the inverter will draw upwards of 100A which is very hard for most batteries to provide for very long. I have a 5000W inverter connected to a 12V, 830AH battery bank. At 600W output, the inverter draws 70A. At 1500W, it draws almost 150A. At 600W output the battery voltage will drop almost 2 volts over 8 hours of operation. At 1500W, I would get maybe 5 hours, but I have never run a load like this for any length of time.

If you put a 100W load on the battery and the voltage drops 2 volts very quickly, then the battery is shot.

Just connected my durite 1000w inverter to battery wrongly got a big spark now will not work

Check the fuses . Look inside for a fuse on the circuit board. There may be some burned up components inside too.

Overload indicator comes on without any appliance attached

The battery may be new- but how much charge does it have? The inverter has a high and low battery warning.

If the inverter has no load upon it, it may see the battery potential as high. so if you put a load on it such as an incandescant lamp, in parallel to the inverter, and as an inverter load it should circumvent the warning. Then it is a matter of fine tuning the setup.

Good day!

You have to do is:
Check the battery if it is leak.Use a voltmeter to test the output voltage of the battery. If your battery had a low supply voltage even you charge it for 3 hours and above.Replace the battery immediately.

Thank you and good luck.

Hi, i've got a skytronic 300w soft start inverter making loud beep and then cutting out. I know its one of the safety cut outs but not which one. can it be repaired ? thanks

If your appliance draws over 300W or if your 12 v battery charge is low you will get a loud beep warning. Do you get the same beep with a low current appliance like a lamp? Make sure your battery has a good charge.

Some appliances have huge draw at start up even though they are rated under 300w your inverter may not be able to start.

Also some electric motors don't like modified sign wave inverters.
What are you trying to run and what is its rated watts?

I had my inverter beep when I had it connected via a cigarette lighter plug but when I used a connection straight to the battery it worked fine.
I was running a 500w grinder on a 1000w el cheepo inverter.
