Question about RTO PasLode 900420 Impulse Framing Nailer

Brand new gun won't work right.

This is the second Cordless Framer that I have bought that does the same thing. Won't shoot more than about 2 nails before the drive pin won't reset all the way back up to let the next nail advance to be fired. Brand new out of the box from Lowe's this last one I bought had this problem. First one worked ok for a little while before it started doing it I had Lowe's send it off for repair and it came back doing same as when it was sent off. Then they wanted to cahrge me $59.00 for repair. I said bull on that and argued with them that it was only eight months old and I'd only used it three times briefly before it started messing up. I said it should have been repaired under warranty and they gave me a line about cleaning and replacing normal wear items wasn't covered under warranty. I told them as new as it was and no more than I had used it it wasn't any wear parts to need replacing and as far as it not being clean it was practically still brand new. They finally agreed not to charge me the $59.00 this time. I'm not sure about these guns being worth what they cost or being as good as they're supposed to be now that I've owned these two. I'm getting ready to take one of them back to Lowe's for a refund and the other to my local service center and actually show them what it's doing before they work on it. I have a 40'x60' picnic pavilion to build for my church and it would have really been nice to have one of these guns working to be able to use but mine will be in the repair shop unfortunatley while I'm building the pavilion.

I share your frustration with these paslode framers. Since you are working clost to electrical power I recommend a regular pneumatic framer and a compressor. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to use and must less trouble overall. Best of luck to you as u do God's work.

My 601 won't shoot any spikes it just leaves a 1/4 '' indent were nail should be?

If you're getting an indent in the wood from the driver, the gun is working properly. If the gun isn't driving fasteners/nails it's because the nail isn't under the driver when it's activated. Several things could cause this: Having the wrong angle nails in your gun. There is something in the feed path of the nails preventing them from feeding fully into the nose piece. The feed shoe is jambed or feed shoe spring is broken.

2 nails shooting at once from nail gun

Could be couple problems. Are you using the right nails for this tool the right guage and degree? Is the nose worn allowing 2 nails to be able to shoot. Give me the model number and brand and I will try and find a print for this tool with firther suggestions, but these would be the most common

How do you safely remove jammed nail gun?

Not sure exactly what Bostitch framer model you have, but if it is powered by compressed air, as long as you remove the air hose from the nail gun, there should be no risk of the nail gun firing while you remove the jammed nail. There should be a way to access the driver area from the top of the nail gun, even via a latch or a couple screws. Remove the top part of the driver area and that should give you access to the jammed nail, which you can remove. Use long nose pliers or something similar if the nails are really stuck.

Firing pin not retracting far enough to allow nails forward

Yes,this is a common "mis fire" by Pasilode. I own the 16p Framer and the Angle nailer and I never get it from the Framer but I do get it seldom from Trim Gun,nothing you can do ,its just a misfire.

Porter cable fc350a frame nailer shoots just air

Could be a couple things, first are you using the right nails in the gun e.g. collation and degree. Second do the nails move freely in the magazine and how is the pusher spring on the nail does it have enough pressure. Then I would unplug from air remove all the nails andjust tap the nose on a piece of wood and does the driver drop? If so the piston Oring is worn and needs replaced, but if you do that I would recommend replacing all the rubber. Let me know and I would need the exact model number to come up with parts.
