    Thank you very much.

  • slnfce Jul 29, 2009

You made a big difference. I am taking a road trip and my son uses the nebulizer twice a day or in case of an emergency. I had purchased a power inverter for use in the car but could not be certain that it was powerful enough. After your answer, I traded it for one which could handle my needs. Thanks again.

Air Conditioner SEER Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio

Energy consumption for home air conditioning accounts for almost 5% of all the electricity produced in the USA. Energy Policy Act mandates minimum energy efficiency standards for commercial buildings, using research and standards developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers. Energy Star qualified central air conditioners have a higher seasonal efficiency rating (SEER) than standard models, which makes them about 14% more efficient than standard models. Energy efficiency specialists with certified training on retrofits and energy savings on both residential and light commercial units may enable you to save up to 50 percent on your air conditioning bills with the use of a high efficiency energy system. Substantial energy savings can be obtained from more efficient systems.

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is related to the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER), which is the ratio of output cooling in Btu/Hr and the input power in watts W at a given operating point and also to the coefficient of performance (COP) commonly used in thermodynamics. SEER rating more accurately reflects overall system efficiency on a seasonal basis and EER reflects the system’s energy efficiency at peak day operations.

The SEER rating is the Btu of cooling output during a typical cooling-season divided by the total electric energy input in watt-hours during the same period. SEER is related to the Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER), which is the ratio of output cooling in Btu/Hr and the input power in watts W at a given operating point and also to the coefficient of performance (COP) commonly used in thermodynamics. SEER rating more accurately reflects overall system efficiency on a seasonal basis and EER reflects the system’s energy efficiency at peak day operations. The higher the SEER number, the greater the efficiency of your unit. Therefore you will realize greater energy savings. The higher efficiency your product, the lower your long-term energy costs will be. Both central AC and air source heat pumps are rated according to seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER).

Before you consider upgrading your cooling equipment, the cheapest way to save money and energy from cooling is to reduce the need for mechanical air conditioning in the first place. Ask your contractor about a variable speed air handler, which will improve comfort and efficiency and allow continuous air filtering at minimum energy cost. Also, because ducts are often responsible for a lot of wasted energy, make sure you hire a contractor who knows about high-efficiency installations. If your central air conditioning unit is more than 12 years old, replacing it with an Energy Star qualified model could cut your cooling costs by 30 percent.

PC Gateway Desktop shuts down without error after 15 to 20 min of operation from CD-Rom. The issue does not seem to happen during defrag operation or during diagnostic tests.

I would grab a bootable iso like knoppix or something and boot with the opticalrom and do a memory test. then after the 9 tests 1 pass if there was no issues boot cd and just use it to browse the web or move some file s around and look at the dmesg in the console see if there are any complaining errors like I/O read errors or something to tell you whats wrong or what it needs.

I would play a movie over and over on it to get it hot see if that makes a issue then soon as it shuts down I would repeat the memory test. if it gives errors you might have a funny memory . if nothing then I would clean out the fans.

let us all in on your results!

How many amps per kilowatt

Kilowatt refers to 1,000 watts. Watts divided by Volts equals Amps.
If your referring to a conversion using a standard of 120 Volts which is what's common in the U.S., then your answer is 8.33... Amps. If your interested in other electrical calculations Google "Ohm's Law." Very useful formulas. V= Volts, I= Amps, W= Watts, R= Resistance.
Kilowatt Hr. = 1,000 Watts operating continuously for one hour.

Yes.
Timers usually don't last more than a few years, unless you buy the heavier duty box timers that last decades.

If i have a 4 channel 2000 watt amp, can i use 1600 watt wires if i only have 2 subs hooked up to it?

Yes, you will be fine. 4 gauge power wire is sufficient for a couple of reasons, the primary one being that most of the companies that are boasting 2000 watts for a 4 channel amp are off brand "web-retail only" companies, and they severely over rate the power output of their amplifiers. Secondly the supposed 2000 watts is peak power and not rms power. Peak power means how much power that amp can put out during absolue climax of the music or during a tone burst. RMS power is how much that amp will put out continously to your speakers or in this case, your subs. If you look at the spec sheet of that amp, in all actuallity you're probably only getting 200-300 watts rms even bridged.

On a side note, if you really want to push your subs hard, you might want to consider getting a mono block or "class d" amplifier and use that 4 channel amp to push your surround speakers. Class d/mono block amps are specifically designed to push subwoofers and will give you the most efficient power out and the best heat dissipation to withstand the output required to drive subwoofers. You'll get better bass and also more adjustability to tweak the sound levels coming out of your subs. Hope that helps.

Do we Need any lisence to use two way radio - FCC ID:K7GMRCEJ

Depends on what channel you are using,
Channels 1 to 7 are both 0.5 watt and 1.5 watt, using it in 0.5 watt mode you do NOT need a license, However if you use it in 1.5 watt mode you will need a license.
Channels 8 to 14 are 0.5 watt only, you do not require a license to operate on these.
Channels 15 to 22 are all 1.5 watt, you will require a license to operate on these.

No knowledge of how to hook two subs which are the 12 alumni audiobahn sub to a performance technique 781 mono block amp operation ohms for the speakers say 3 or 12 ohms during operation can i bridge or do...

yor subs have dual 6 ohm voice coils from the sound of it-your amp is rated at 650 watts rms at a 1ohm load. The best you can do with the equipment you have is to wire ALL the coils of your subs in parallel and that will give you a 1.5 ohm load for the amp.It should knock the hell outta them with 300 watts on each sub - good luck

Pump goes on and off too often

Your pump is overheating. Check the current draw of your pump during operation. The amperage should not go above its current rating.
Remember Power (Watts)= Voltage (VAC) x Current (Amps). For a 100 Watt motor running at 120 VAC then the current I should see is approximately, 1.2 Amps. If I see 2 amps draw on the motor then I now its about to burn up or another problem has occurred. Values higher then 1.5 times the nominal operating current shows problems with motor or motor operation (excessive load, bad bearings, exc.)
Make sure that the pump is fully primed during entire operation. Note: Pumps hate cavitation and dry run times!
If all of the above is ok, then you may need to increase the capacity of your pump or place two of the same pumps in series for the extra head pressure.

How much elc. kwh should this run. e-mail stephen.berry6@verizon.net

Steven,

A Rinnai should not use more than 300 to 500 Watts during ignition and about 50 to 80 watts during the run cycle. The service manual does not give these numbers. I am going off Toyostove or Monitor numbers, which will be close.
