Shut the power off to the unit, spin the fan blade to see if it spins freely. If it doesn't spin freely, (there appears to be a little drag when you spin it),the bearings are bad, if it does spin freely, then try moving the motor shaft from side to side if there’s any play in the shaft side to side then the bearings are worn and motor needs replaced. Then, check the capacitor, if it’s bulging even slightly, the capacitor is bad and needs replaced. Most of the time people replace the capacitor if motor seems ok. If capacitor is ok, turn power on to see if the motor is getting the proper voltage, if it is and not trying to run, then the windings are probably open, the motor's bad and needs replaced.

I have Whirlpool fridge FF450 Elite. Though the fridge cooling is normal, after the night working find in the early morning all magic light flickering though the fridge compressor is working. The freezing...

seems to me by the frost that the inside fan is not blowing air across the cooling radiator (evaporator), due to ice build up impeding air flow or the fan motor stalls or not working a t all. Defrost timer should also be checked if the air flows thru inside the fridge.

Lennox Elite air handler will run cold for a while, then it will blow warm air out until the safety switch is moved, then it will make a noise in the system which sounds like air hissing, then the cold air...

sounds like installer broke on yellow wire between thermostat and condenser. your switch is breaking the 24 volt signal to cobdensor when the internal float is activated. moving the switch is somehow allowing bobber to drop enough to reactivate 24 volt and condenser comes back on. refrigerant starts to recirculate again and thats what your hearing in the lines. the switch prevents evap coil pan from spilling over into your return when the drain is clogged. use a shop vac and clear your drain. i blow it out with compressed nitrigen. after line is clear prime it wuth 32 oz of water.

Lennox air conditioner. Outside unit fan stopped spinning. Air coming out inside the home. Unit is on and operating. Fan just stopped. What is wrong and what should i do?

Hello, this sounds like a bad capacitor or bad fan motor. Replace the capacitor, if replacimg the capacitor does not work you have a bad fan motor. Capacitor is usually about 10 bucks where a motor is about 200. So try repacing the cap first.

Lennox central air for home not kicking on. Fan on the outside not spinning but motor is making a humming noise. No cold air coming in home. We have circuit breakers they are turn to the on position. ...

Is the indoor fan working? The problem with the outdoor fan sounds like it could be your capacitor. Turn off the power to the outdoor unit and make sure the fan turns freely using a screwdriver or something that will reach the blades. If it turns freely then it is probably the capacitor. Let me know what you find.

The fan is running and blowing cool air out of the unit but there is no air coming through the vents, what are the possible problems? (Lennox Elite series)

The unit could possibly have a frozen indoor coil. Turn ac to off...and fan switch to on...wait 45 minutes and see if air flow improves. Check for dirty filter which can lead to freeze up. Low on freon is also a possibility.

Lennox Fan will not come on when set to ''auto'' position.

Expensive is relative, service calls are never free. But if you have an idea what the problem is, you are armed against an unethical service company. Now to what you describe, could be a couple things, first let me explain the difference in fan speeds. Furnaces that both heat and cool have multi-speed blower motors. High speed is for cooling and lower speeds are for heating. The fan switch at the T-Stat turns on the high speed fan relay. The lower speed fan is turned on by either a temperature activated switch (silver box mounted on front on furnace above burners) or a time delay relay which is solid state. That being said, your problem could be a defective fan switch or one of your blower motor windings has gone bad. Most motors have 3 or 4 speeds and a technician could just change speeds and all would be good. A fan/limit switch is not so expensive that you would replace the unit. Bottom line, unless your really handy, a heating company is in your future. Good luck and please rate my answer if it was helpful to you.

No cool air some rooms: Lennox G40UH

Sounds like a restriction of air flow. Check you duct work and check for holes or lose duct.

Lennox air unit not blowing cold air

your fan motor outside is going bad, have a service company change it out for you.

the motor stopped working and that overheated the compressor shutting it down on thermal cutout, and it will only come on once it cools down
